Short-Film Contest Guidelines October 23-24, 2010 - Harrisburg, PA Presented by

Eligibility Each applicant must follow the guidelines below and submit a registration form along with his/her entry. Agreement to Official Rules Participation in this Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Deadline The film contest begins June 30th. Entries must be submitted no later than September 17th. Entry Guidelines Download the registration form and complete, sign and submit along with your film. This entry form can be submitted electronically if you are uploading our film – just email to evergreenfilmfest@gmail. com. The film must be between 5 and 10 minutes. If a film exceeds 10 minutes it will be automatically eliminated and NOT go through the judging process. The film must be submitted on DVD or uploaded to url. Each registrant is restricted to one film entry. The short film must focus on one of the following topics: 1) Sustainable Communities 2) Locally & Organically Grown 3) Clean Energy 4) Climate Change in PA Content Restrictions: • Short films must be an original piece of work by the registrant (the registrant will certify this by signing the entry form) • Short Films must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, living or deceased, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes

copyright infringement • All footage and music contained in the Short Films must be properly licensed, in the public domain or created by entrant; • Short Films must be suitable for publication in a public forum (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), may not contain nudity, profanity, threats of physical violence, or material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where the Short Film is created; • Short Films must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, torturous, defamatory, slanderous or libelous; and • Short Films must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age. Judging Criteria The films will be reviewed and critiqued by a panel of judges representing both the film perspective and the environmental perspective. Each film will have the ability to receive a maximum of 100 pointes based on the criteria below: 20 creativity 20 environmental content/accuracy 20 educational value 20 production (directing, cinematography, lighting, sound) 10 post-production (editing, sound effects) 10 Overall impression (how well do you like the film) Films that do not meet the basic requirements of these guidelines will not reach the judging phase. Prizes Top five films will be featured on film festival website. Grand Prize: $300.00 and plaque; Top 3 Prizes receive $50 and certificate. Release and Indemnification By participating, entrant agrees to release and hold harmless film festival administrators and sponsors and their respective parent companies; board members, employees, volunteers, founders (if applicable); subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, out of participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity, or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, or for any printing, production, typographical, human or other error in the printing, offering or announcement of any prize. Burden of determination The burden of determining that any material is not protected by copyright, trademark, rights of privacy, publicity or any other proprietary rights rests with the entrant. The entrant shall bear the sole liability for any damage resulting from any infringement of copyrights, proprietary rights, or any other harm resulting from such a submission.
