While walking on the strip A homeless person asked if I had some spare CHANGE. So I started to DIG DEEP into my pockets. Then I thought If I could DIG DEEP enough I might be able to CHANGE The course of his life. Maybe I could CHANGE The nature of the situation He was livin’ in. DIG DEEP and CHANGE The outcome of his Sporadic Manic depressive Self-destructive pattern. You know If I DIG DEEP enough I might find the meaning of it all.

DIG DEEP into this cesspool For a cool drink of water For I die. (quoting Maya Angelou) Maybe I could CHANGE The face of oppression The outcome of the election…and World wars or Famine in third world Countries. DEEP in the pockets of life I’m CHANGIN’ Shape-shiftin’ Rearrangin’ I’m driftin’ away. In my pocket I’m still DIGGIN’ For CHANGE or Anything I could spare.

A CHANGE In the air That I’m breathin’ Cause I’m ‘bout to choke On the second hand smoke

Filling the air surroundin’ me From all these chimney stacks The factories keep buildin’. Are they tryin’ to kill me? Cause the OZONE Is full of holes…and These U.V. Rays Is Burnin’ Cancer in my Skin I sware I don’t wanna die! I’m DIGGIN’ to CHANGE The nature of the power structure Causin’ destruction to the Universe Reekin’ havoc all over the land…and I can’t stand it! Somethings got the CHANGE Y’all…and I’m DIGGIN’ DEEP for CHANGE in our… State of Affairs Oil spills Land fills Homelessness Project Tenement Housing.

The Urban Renewal Project Still has some CHANGES to make Cause I’m lookin’ But I ain’t seein’ Urban Life Ain’t lookin’ to new to me. A CHANGE Has got to come Iin the Starvation Inflation Wasteland The Mis-education Of our Nation. We’ve got to make a CHANGE in… The Evolution Of Revolution Air Pollution Traffic Control . Alcoholism Drug Addiction Rape Victims Murder Incest

Disease Hospitalization. Misspent funds… Criminals on the run…and Little Sally’s got a Gun. Still we keep tryin’ To CHANGE Economic Affairs Law Enforcement Higher-Archie Racism Materialism Rich VS. Poor Black VS. White. I’m DIGGIN’ as DEEP as I can Y’all Tryin’ to make some CHANGE. But these are ever CHANGIN’ times…and I’m DIGGIN’ DEEP Cause I could sure use some CHANGE. -Terri A. Durden

I barter whenever I can

This man asked me for money .00 for

I said yes, if you let me take your picture photograph

I love the feel of…capturing that unexpected shot…the cool stuff, the beautiful things. The joy and pain of life…that twinkle in someone’s eyes…the wrinkles on an elderly persons face and hands…children at play…un-posed for photography…sneaking one in when they least expect it. –Terri A. Durden
