Young people aged 13 to 19yrs, and up to 25 with a learning difficulty or disability, who live or go to school in Enfield, can choose from a wide range of free courses and activities that will be held in locations across the borough. Please note that some courses have specific age ranges and each young person can take part in two activities.

13 - 19yrs Mon 28th July to Fri 1st Aug 11am to 4pm Alan Pullinger Centre, 1 John Bradshaw Rd, Southgate, N14 6BT A week long introduction to Stopmotion animated film-making. Learn the skills and techniques involved in making your own animated film, including: puppet and model making, design, animation, camera skills, visual storytelling, storyboarding, sound design and basic editing. We communicate through stories and yet writing our own can seem impossibly hard. So what is creative writing? And how do you do it yourself? By the end of the session you should be well under way with at least one new story, and you’ll have a bank of ideas for more.

13 - 19yrs Mon 28th July - Fri 1st August 11am - 4pm the Red Room @ Ponders End Youth Centre, 129 South St, Ponders End, EN3 4PX This workshop over the course of five days will introduce you to the basics of forming a band, creating an online presence and promoting your performance. No experience is necessary to take part and absolute beginners are welcome. Over the five days you will learn the basics in how to perform a song, you will record in our recording studio and take part in ‘The End Of Summer Jam’ concert that will be held at the Red Room.

Create bold and beautiful badges and jewellery. Squish, sculpt and get your hands messy with clay. Make and decorate a fantastic mask which is moulded to your own face. Using wire, wood and modroc plaster make your own unique 3D sculpture, and design and make a beautiful mosaic mirror using colourful mosaic tiles, pebbles, shells, glass beads and found objects.

13 - 19yrs Mon 4th - Fri 8th Aug, 12pm to 4pm from Mon to Thurs and 2pm till 10pm on Fri 8th The “Red Room”, Ponders End Youth Centre, 129 South St, Ponders End, EN3 4PX An accredited event programming and planning course to set up and manage a small summer concert held by the “Red Room” music and film project. On this course you will learn how to stage manage and set up the event from scratch, including health and safety, programme planning, booking acts, a site visit, equipment needed and the technical running of the event. You will also learn how to record and film the event.

Would it be round, square, large, small, underground or up a tree, a castle or a cave? 15 - 19yrs Monday 4th August to Friday 8th August – 11am to 4pm, Alan Pullinger Centre, 1 John Bradshaw Rd, Southgate, N14 6BT One of the new styles of film-making that has taken off with the advent of YouTube. A great challenge for young film makers. Come and join in re-making a blockbuster movie trailer using as many different techniques as you can imagine. One of last year’s films was nominated for The Finest Sweded Movie Trailers Of 2013 by www.geeksofdoom.com! If you are interested in becoming an independent or experimental film maker then this is the course for you.

Devise and make your own short films on location - from original ideas to storyboarding, filming in HD quality and editing. Make original soundtracks and see your films on the big screen. Working towards a nationally acredited Level 1 Bronze Arts Award working with professional Enfield arts company Tiger Monkey UK Ltd. Last year we made three films and got 13 arts awards in one week and had a premier at Cineworld Enfield!

14 - 19yrs Thurs 14th - Fri 15th, 10am - 4pm The Brokerage City Link, 65 London Wall, City of London, EC2M 5TU Working in the City takes you to ‘the City’ where you will spend time at leading firms to gain an insight into the life of a city worker, find out about different careers and take part in our trading floor simulation! For this course the young people will visit leading firms meeting city workers to give them a taste of the path to city working life. You will learn valuable skills, gain tips on CV’s and interviews and meet lots of new people.

Begin your coaching career here with this one day course to give you all the skills you need to lead football activities as a young person. You will also be able to develop these ideas further by working in Photoshop to produce your final design. Your final piece will be a painting on canvas.

You will learn how to draw faces, feet, hands, bodies and everything else to create that perfect picture. 3D Sculpture
13 - 19yrs - Wednesday 20th August (& Tuesday 26th August) 10am to 4pm – Millfield Arts Centre, Silver Street, N18 1PJ In this course you will have an opportunity to create a 3D sculpture whilst learning a variety of different hand building techniques, such as coiling, pinching, press moulding and slab building using different coloured clays. You can be as abstract or as realistic as you like and if you are feeling especially brave you can even have a go at throwing on the wheel.

Wanting to give Netball a try or just have a game with some of your mates? Then come along to the sessions coached by our qualified coaches who will run you through a Netball warm up followed by drills and game related play.
