WHAT’S ON IN LEEDS LIVE AT LEEDS

This newsletter is with less information, but not less quality! I have the pleasure to present Live at Leeds, a metropolitan music festival across a variety of venues in Leeds. It’s not in April, it’s in May, but I tell you in this newsletter because if you really wanna go you’ll need to purchase your ticket in advance! The main event is on Saturday 5th May and hosts over 100 bands, all of which are accessible via the purchase of a special Live at Leeds festival wristband priced at £20! Bands confirmed for this year’s wristbanded event include The Enemy, Marina & The Diamonds, Ladyhawke, The Subways and Los Campesinos! You can buy the ticket online in www.lunatickets.co.uk to attend as many concerts as you want! When: 4th‐7th of May

NORTHERN ARTS UNCOVERED: An exhibition of emerging talent Northern Arts Uncovered is a 1 day exhibition in Leeds and an excellent opportunity to see the fresh talent in the UK art industry. The exhibition serves as an outlet for up and coming artists to display their work and gain recognition. The event is a must see for art lovers. The show aims to attract both commercial artists and student talents, to complete and exhibition full of new ideas and creativity. Moreover, this is a non‐profit event. Funding from this exhibition goes to http://www.artfund.org a charity dedicated to funding the UK arts industry. The price is £5, so you can help to develop the art in the UK within just this entry. ASIAN BAZAAR @ LEEDS KIRKGATE MARKET The Leeds Asian market, also known as “The Bazaar”, is an initiative that takes place in the Kirkgate open market every Wednesday from 10:30 to 18:00. There you can find more than 100 Asian stalls with food, jewellery, clothes and much more that you can discover if you go. Moreover, in previous newsletters other volunteers have detected that there is a fabulous atmosphere where you can feel like in India or Pakistan, so…let’s travel! I was a Medical Assistant in a gynaecologist surgery Have you travelled before? If yes, which is your favourite place? Italy, I love the culture, the weather and the people are very lovely...I forgot the ice‐cream!!! Why did you choose to come to England? Because, I want to improve my English (I think like all the people here ;) ) and learn more about the culture and the people ,also it is not too a long way to Germany. What was your most interesting cultural discovering in England? Not all the English people love the queen and the tea ;) Where do you plan to travel during your EVS? London and Scotland are my most favourite places that I want to visit What expectations do you have about this experience (personally and professionally)? I hope to meet a lot of nice people and have here a good time. Also I want to learn from Heather (my mentor). She is a Social Worker. This I want to be in my future. What are your goals for these six months? I hope Improve my English, and have a nice time here in UK What will you do when you finish your project? And in 10 years time? I will go to a school and make a higher exam that I can study social work, to be a Social Worker in my city. In 10 Years... I hope that I´m than a Social Worker and travel around the world to visit nice places.
