Grundtvig Assistant Aurelie Lemaire

Hi! I’m almost at the end of my Grundtvig Assistantship with Everything Is Possible, and before I leave, I would like to share my experience with you and tell you how amazing these last 45 weeks were! I have been working with Everything Is Possible since August 2012 and I’m about to finish it after 10 months. My main role in the organisation was working with young people willing to participate in an EVS/ Leonardo projects. As a result, I have been in contact with different institutions in the UK (like The Salvation Army, Bradford Foyer, YMCA, etc.) and abroad (our partners in Europe). In addition to it, I also had the opportunity to participate in different projects, such as the Suitcase Circus Grundtvig Learner Workshop, where I met amazing people and learnt how to jungle ; the Young Pride where we invited 100 young people who have participated in a Youth in Action programme and I have learnt how to organise such a big event ; the Open day sessions where we were directly in contact with young people interested in doing a project with us; the partnership “Effective Inclusion” where I helped the partners to create good tools for our future trainees ; a youth initiative with our partner in Malta where I have learnt how to organise a workshop, etc. Moreover, I had the opportunity to visit different projects in Italy and Reunion Island, where I have been introduced to the organisation and had the opportunity to discuss about their projects and add ideas to improve their projects with the volunteers/trainees. Finally, I had the opportunity to teach the young people different languages. I was teaching them some basic French (my mother tongue) and Italian. As you can see, this year has been full of surprises and adventures, and I have done so many things that it is just impossible to share them in this article. Of course during this year I had ups and downs, but my main feeling about this year is happiness: happiness about my project, my work with the team of Everything Is Possible, my life in the UK and all I have learnt through this experience! This is why I would like to thank the team of Everything Is Possible for giving me this opportunity to work with them and the European Commission for letting me do this Grundtvig Assistantship!
