ABOUT ME

My name is Amber and I am 18 years old. I study Animal Management in York and my favourite animal is a Giraffe. My motivation is to improve welfare standards.

FREE TIME

I enjoyed discovering the National Park by horseback as it was very peaceful. I equally enjoyed exploring under water during our snorkelling activity as I found the marine life interesting.

WHAT DID I LEARN PROFESSIONALLY? Professionally, I have learnt a variety of skills that I can transfer into a work place. An example of these would be gaining more knowledge on different veterinary procedures.

THE PROJECT

My favourite activity is working at the vets. I also enjoy helping at the Donkey Sanctuary and taking part in their daily cleaning and feeding routine.

ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation is a short drive away from our activities but it is located in a nice area. I am living with 7 others which has improved my social skills.

WHAT DID I LEARN PERSONALLY? This experience has made me realise what I would like to do in the future. It has given me the confidence to do more volunteering to achieve my dream career.
