the project Every year the Leeds Festival and Tribfest Festival attract thousands of music lovers. Keeping the site environmentally friendly is a huge challenge that the Green Messengers try to manage.
RECYCLING - As a Green Messenger
you will work to promote recycling, collect cans & plastic bottles and salvage good quality, re-usable camping equipment
that has been left in the campsites and which will be shared amongst to charities and community organisations.
If you love music and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this project is for you!
RADIO - Volunteers will produce some
podcasts on which they will share their experience as EVS volunteers and promote recycling. These podcasts will be published online.
accommodation and meals LODGING - During this 2 week project
you will be living in a campsite, sharing a tent with other volunteers. Nights can be wet and cold so it is important you bring warm and waterproof clothes. Wellington are essential! There will be some outside showers (sometimes with hot water). You will love nights around camp fire and watching free concerts by international rock bands. Around 50 other international young people will be volunteering with you.

things to keep in mind • Say please and thank you. This is highly valued in the UK and it can appear rude not to. • Be on time! Punctuality is considered polite in the UK. Try to call if you are going to arrive late. • Carry an umbrella! British weather is very unpredictable. If it is sunny in the morning, don’t be surprised if it rains in the afternoon! • Shake hands when meeting someone for the first time. In more informal situations, sometimes no contact is made. Just say “hello” and wait to see if someone offers their hand! Good friends may hug or give one kiss on the cheek.
