ASTRONOMY MUSEUM & KNOWLEDGE PARK LOCATON : Bangkok Planetarium Ekkamai , BKK (998 Sukhumvit rd.) CONCEPT : Flow of Astronomy into daily life To be talking about the importance of the most influenced field of science nowadays, the science that could contribute future technology, the science that could find out about our next journey as a human. Astronomy, an important field of science that Thai society did not give enough attention to, even for the education to the public. Despite, Thai astronomers still working hard for their career achievement with many research works that have been published, they are still not being well known. Thus, generally, people still seeing it as something that quite far away. To put all of the aforementioned topics in the nutshell, the project is to be the public promotion and knowledge providing about Astronomy to the public project as well as to bring up the Astronomy to contribute and getting closer to our daily life through the integration of green landscape in the city center of Ekkamai.

HOW ASTRONOMY IMPORTANT? ASTRONOMY IS IN EVERYDAY LIFE Even the normal phenomenon of sunrise is also counted as Astronomy.

EVERYDAY LIFE INFLUENCED BY ASTRONOMICAL PRODUCT Astronomical research makes Technological advances to be future innovation.

WHY DO WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ASTRONOMY? -Drives MOTIVATION to seek knowledge -Development of FUTURE INNOVATIVE technology -CURIOSITY and imagination creates many innovations

PROBLEMS

-Thai education not encourage the curiosity of students and not supporting them to question things, also no places for direct support -Awareness of the importance and were not support a Thai research.

INTO THE WOODS LOCATON : Yongsan district , Seoul Yongsan, which means dragon mountain, is located in the middle of Seoul. Two main streets are passing by, and many trains are stopped by Yongsan station. Here is the point of traffic, so it can be a good place to gather people for many purposes such a program as start up office, temporary residence and the gathering plazas. CONCEPT - Greens environment into the box

1.Tall building to make context with tall hotel. Tha farther away from hotel, the lower the building is.

2.For connection and undisturbed view, emptied building and get rid of the part of cubes.

3.Make platform for hollwed part of building, and cubes turned into frame works which makes context with gap.

4.Connect buildings , platforms, and frameworks with bridges.

Master plan 2 buildings opposite are connected together by the public program, this is the linkage between the public facities between 2 sites. With the problem of lack of the green space in this district, this concept may make Yongsan to be more friendly to approach by the customers of the start-up company or the local users.

First floor plan

Eight floor plan modules The main building is mainly for the start-up office, showroom, commercials, and some of the leisure programs serving the business, while the opposite landmark building is mainly for public activities usage as the main relaxation space in Yongsan district to activate the sleeping district to be active again.

The half tiled wall was used for the division of space of the soba bar as well as lead the way to the 2nd-floor space, the wall has further elongated to an outdoor space which could be used as a smoking area or an outdoor bench. The use of big reptile cages as the element of planning to create the atmosphere like a reptile lab.

Design elements Due to the customer’s requirements and the customer’s favor, I designed to use the taxidermy animals and clear glass box as another element in planning the space. Moreover, I chose the bendable reflect acrylic as the mimic of the bending mirror to reflect the reptile cage on the corridor and to make space look wider.

Front elevation

For the exterior renovation, I designed to replace the existing opening window with laminated wood painted with metallic paint for all exterior on the 2nd floor, this is to block out the natural sunlight and insulate the sound from the event space inside. For the ground floor exterior, I designed the existing structure to be coat with loft-style plaster same as the interior of the bar.

Material usage For the 2nd-floor interior event space, I research the new and alternative material for the insulation of sound, I found interest in the PVC mat coil material which is normally used as a mat inside the car. The material has a beauty of a texture by itself as while creates a different mood when different kinds of light touch on. Also, I designed to use the curtain and rail system as a division of space inside, the users can adjust the space up to the function.

UNI-TRI LOCATON : SoA+D courtyard , BKK The main objective of this pavilion is to be a public space that brings the students together in a single space and to provide a relaxable space. Landmark of the faculty building. The reminder of the students’ spirits of unity. CONCEPT We found out that from all the points of column if we project the line from higher floors to courtyard,we will get TRIANGLE form. By pointing the ropes, we are linking the buildings together which also highlights the meaning of unity. This form is the symbol of faculty that students called “JUI KANA”. It represents UNITY in this place.

Design Process Designing the position of the ropes to match with the behavior of the public users for both to be as a shelter and a symbolic Pavillion as well as designing the base of wave to match with the position of the users while lay down. The material using rubber wood for strong structure.

Real making process A lot of construction processes have been done in the wood workshop including real work on the structural support, we need to experiment on the real scale usage such as the height to access into the inner parts and even the angle of the slope for leaning before the real users to be use. Also, we needed to experiment on the installation of the rope on a real scale to see the effects on the real site.

Real usage Slope made for different position of leaning and a gaps between the ropes are for the opening welcoming for the users to enter in all access. Many users actually use the pavillion during break times or after class period, as well as they using this pavillion as the landmark for meeting each other. This pavillion created a social interaction in real usage for all users in the school.

Rope knitting We experimented with the model about the way to link between the existing structure and out pavillion to be as much as effective to the users as possible. We resultes in cross knitting in every groups of ropes at each base point in order to blend it as much as possible from the user’s perspective.

1.Structural framing 2.Foundation 3.Arc 4.Column, wall , facade

1.Whole bamboo 2.Surface layer 3.Bamboo node

01

Experiment with the column and bending technique by using the local product to represent and rearrange into the elements as the cornice. Further rearrangement is also to make the different effects to space.

02

Experiment on column and tubing technique to generate the unique form which allows sunlight to pass on from the tube while being as structural support as well

03

Experiment on the effect to crop out the local product parts combined with the thin bamboo square structural framing to be built as a pavilion or division of space elements. In which the privacy may be revealed as the element were cropped out.

04

A further experiment on the cornice column technique by re-arrange it into wall/facade, which may give a translucent effect as well as ventilation flow as all consisted of voids from bending.

Course : Lighting

11.1

Lighting experiment CONCEPT : Perspective illusion The project is experiment the effect of light that happend in the space, in this project I choose to experiment with the depth, colors and focal point to create an illusion inside one space. The project is to create different mixture of light at different perspective view and angle. LIGHTING MATERIAL : 4 LED colors red, pink, blue, green

POSITIONING :

Light from different direction, maily 3 directions with different angle and distance adjustment, Apply these to 2 opening sides box model

The simulation model with 2 opening sides, different plane and 3D small boxes are proportionally and rationally arranged in the area to create free void and spaces including the sharp angle and edges to see how the light color affected in each particular one.

PHYSICAL MODEL EXPERIMENT : The simulation model with 2 opening sides, different plane and 3D small boxes are proportionally and rationally arranged in the area to create free void and spaces including the sharp angle and edges to see how the light color affected in each particular one.

Jewelry Design

Architectural jewelry : Soviet Brutalism The jewelry were made with the concept of the architecture by bring up the topic of the Soviet Brutalism style as the key of design. I used the identity and characteristic of form to represent the style of the architecture through the jewelry. : Folding

Copper & Acrilic rod

Elongated parts with 7 strips of metal rods in the middle of the jewelry, using Acrylic pure rods on top at the hole as the Soviet architectural elements . On top with the grey sprayed beads. The folded elements have 4 times fold to put in 1 fingers as functions.

Stage design/Installation art Experienced on the stage and lighting design from small scale events to big scale from 3D modelling until constructing in some parts. Different materials were used to apply to the stage design, most of them are the reuse materials. Fir the installation art, the project was to experiment the effect of the acrylic color on the chemicals which reflected into a marble effects, I created the installation as a mood marble wall toconvey the changes of feelings when the colors change
