Ramadan April 13 marks the beginning of Ramadan, which is the 9th month in the Islamic calendar and is traditionally seen as a time for increased prayer, self-reflection and charity among Muslims. During Ramadan, Muslims fast during the daytime every day, until Eid. We send all our best wishes to our residents who participate in Ramadan for a month of reflection, guidance and blessings. FIRE safety checks If you are a social housing resident of Evolve Housing, you may be contacted to arrange an inspection of your property to check for Essential Fire Safety Measures. Essential Fire Safety Measures are items that prevent injury and building damage in the event of a fire. Examples include smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, hose reels and emergency exit lights.
We are required to submit certification to local councils to prove that we keep these items functioning, where relevant, in our properties. Our Essential Fire Safety Measures providers, Firetection and Willowdene Constructions, will be conducting visits to check that all necessary items in your unit are working. You will be able to choose a specific time for the visit, which should take approximately 15 minutes. You may also see staff from Firetection or Willowdene around your complex if you live in a unit, as they are servicing common areas.
Need to report a repair? Evolve Housing is committed to making sure that you are safe and comfortable in your home, and we take all repairs requests seriously. If you have any repairs or maintenance tasks that need to be done at your property, please let us know by lodging a repair request through our repairs form online at: evolvehousing.com.au/im-a-resident-2/all-about-repairs
After you lodge your request, it is assessed by our team and will be classed as being priority, responsive or planned maintenance. This classification will affect how quickly the repair is done. If your repair is an urgent repair, please do not fill out the form but instead call us immediately on 1800 693 865.
Rent calculation changes
Please be aware that the NSW Community Housing Social Rent policy will commence this year, which will result in some changes to the way your rent is calculated. These changes will be applied from April 2021. Last year, we sent out a letter to all residents explaining the policy. If you did not receive the letter, please feel free to call 1800myevolve (1800 693 865) to ask for more information.

To stay safe and ensure we are complying with Covid-19 social distancing requirements, our office is still closed to drop-in visits. If you would like to visit us or one of our team members, please make an appointment in advance with the person you are meeting with, or by calling 1800 693 865 or emailing info@evolvehousing.com.au.
At Evolve Housing, we acknowledge that complaints provide valuable feedback to help us improve our services. We are committed to handling complaints effectively and efficiently. We have a dedicated Complaints Officer to investigate complaints in an impartial manner.
