Execu+ve summary

The whole idea came from world connec+ve and is associate with my personal background and life that I experienced living In my country. Firstly I wanted to introduce the landscape that is characteris+c country see side that I have very good memories of. At the same +me involving community in all the process. As I was developing my concept the community has become for me in the first place so I have developed series of spaces that cloud provide ac+vi+es for local people that could make the space their own. Meaning connec+ng people to their park so they feel that these is the place they belong and where they spent their childhood and more.

Site  Contextual  studies Â

Site on the winter afternoon. Horses are grazing and beside that there is no other signs of live. In far back worn tower building are overlooking the site and Southmee lake. From left a largely open space that at the moment is under used. Potentially it culd be uses for events and play. Green Chain walk passes through the site even do there is not enough interest in the site to keep people within for a longer period of time.

Closer to Southmere lake we can appreciate trees and shrubs of handsome autumn colors surrounding the water. It is a shame that water is polluted and contains lots of rubbish disposed by people. We can also notice that amenity grass is worn and muddy. Thamesmead feels here sad and only and very cold on that day.

The site is surrounded by Brutalist style three story terrace housing and 2-3 story modernist housing. There are also 12 storey tall tower buildings. The character of the surrounding area is quite cold and gray as the concrete predominate. What I find interesting is the form of the land that is going up and down being at highest point of 6m above see level , it allows good views to the lake and surrounding areas.

Quite busy secondary road used to access existing housing and also the site for any maintenance necessary. We can notice that quite a lot of cars is park on the road. Some scattered trees creating a shade over the site. At time of visit I notice that some trees where freshly removed most probably to plant any new species.

E C L A View to the South of the site. The path leads up the mound where from the top we can observe the whole site and the surrounding housing. What is very surprising that the site have many neighboring housing but people who live there don't uses the site at all or very little. Something needs to be done to make the site important and interesting to people.

View from the entrance to the site just of the pedestrian bridge. Only one main paths leads us through the site going up and down as the levels very in different parts of the site. Tree planting is quiet poor as we can notice there is only a few trees scattered in this area. The site is quite shaded at this time of the day as the sun is hidden by tall concrete buildings.

Date At the secondary road looking South we can see that the site is fenced with only three access gates for public use. All along to the main road the is a hedge approximately 1m tall. On the right Traces housing which looks very worn and unpleasant. Planting is very poor .

Standing on the top of pedestrian bridge over a busy main road . At these point it is noisy and it feels like time just passes fast. From materiality point of view we can see mostly gray dull concrete that show already damages of time. At far left we can notice that some new development is taking a place that could means improvements to the area.
