Deadline 31/12/1016 • -Pupils (in pairs,or groups) will choose the oldest house ( or the one that seem the most traditional) in their neighbourhood ( in their street,or in their village) then they will first visualise it (photo or drawing) and will make an interview with the people living there in English. They will prepare a newspaper page using their visual and interview. (All countries can do the same activity and we can share our pages on the internet or in the meeting in Turkey ) • Maths: Roman and Arabic numbers, golden proportion POLAND • SUBJECTS : Social Studies, Languages
Deadline 31/01/2017 • -The pupils in groups will choose a region in Turkey which is famous with its typical traditional houses (there are many towns with different specific houses) and make a research about them on the internet. Then they will make a model of the houses there using waste material and give basic information about them. ( their location, their date of building, their colour in common etc.) The photos of the models and the information they found will be shared on the web ( blog, etwining space,etc) • Maths: geometric shapes, cylinders, SPAIN • SUBJECTS : Social Studies(History-Geography), Languages, ICT
Deadline 28/02/2017 • -Each country will prepare a dictionary including proverbs, literary expressions and quotations about “home”. The dictionary will be in English and in their mother tongue. ( For example one of the famous sayings of Atatürk : “Peace at home, peace in the world.”, or a well-known sentence like “There is no place like home.” ) • Maths : , Pythagorean theorem, ITALY • SUBJECTS : Literature, Languages
Deadline 31/03/2017 • -Making a research about the interesting stories or surprising facts of historical buildings. Each country finds and chooses such an interesting story,tale or legend and prepare a poster about it, then in Turkey we can tell,or read them and choose the most interesting one. ( There are really interesting stories and some surprising facts about old houses in Turkey) • Maths: Platonic solid, scale and Maths mosaics. BULGARY • • SUBJECTS : Literature, Languages, History

-Re-designing of a piece of old furniture : In old Turkish houses, there were some decorative objects or different furnitures that no longer exist ( for example in some old houses there used to be a small pool in the living room, or there used to be a turning shelf between kitchen and living room, you put the plates and food there and turn it, then they can take it from the living room and this was used when men and women were sitting in different rooms and weren’t seeing each other in very old times in Anatolia) The pupils will make a research about them and they will re-design (in a more modern way) it. They will do the model of it in their Technology and design lesson. ( We can modify the activity depending on your ideas naming it “Smart Furnitures From The Past”,etc. ) Maths: similar triangles TURKEY SUBJECTS : History, ICT, Technology and Design
