Ten rules of safety for cyclists


Rule number 1 Take care of your bike. It should be always functional.


Rule number 2 Ride a bike only on the roads suitable for cyclists. You musn’t go on motorways by bike.


Rule number 3 Use pavements for cyclists where you must go on the right side.


Rule number 4 You must know the road signs and traffic movement rules.


Rule number 5 A driver is not your enemy, treat him/her as a child who can be unpredictable. You should have eyes around your head.


Rule number 6 Take care about the lights specially when you are going to ride a bike at night. You are safer when you are visible.


Rule number 7 Wear helmet and high visibility jacket specially when you are in big cities and ride at night.


Rule number 8 Be predictable for another road users.


Rule number 9 Do not stop immediately.


Rule number 10 Leave some place for yourself on the roadside.


Bloody statistics for cyclists • According to statictics in 2015 in Poland 35 % accidents were because of the cyclists’ fault. • In the accidents 300 cyclists lost their lives for 303 people who took part in those accidnets.
