966 The Babtism of Poland. The historical beginning of Polish country. In 2016 we celebrated 1050 anniversary of our country existence.


1410


1410 The Battle of Grunwald between the Polish–Lithuanian–Teutonic War. The battle was one of the largest in Medieval Europe and is regarded as the most important victory in the history of Poland.


1543


1543 Copernicus' major work on his heliocentric theory was (On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres), published in the year of his death, 1543. Mikołaj Kopernik proved that the Sun not the Earth is the center of our solar system.


1772


1772 The Partitions of Poland.were three partitions of the Poland the first one in 1772. They ended the existence of the state, resulting in the elimination of the sovereign Poland for 123 years. The partitions were conducted by the Russian Empire, the Kingdom of Prussia and Habsburg Austria.


1918


1918 National Independence Day is a national day in Poland celebrated on 11 November to commemorate the anniversary of the restoration of Poland's sovereignty as the Second Polish Republic in 1918, after 123 years of partitions.


1939 - 1945


1939 - 1945 World War II it was the total war. From 55 to 85 million people died during this war. It began on 1 September 1939 with the invasion of Poland by Nazi Germany.

1989 Until 1989 Poland was controlled by the Soviet Union and was a communist country. In 1989 the was the round Table Agreement in Poland which started the Poland became a democrative country again.
