What has been the recent sales activity of single-family homes and condominiums priced greater than $2,000,000? The number of fourth-quarter 2009 sales of single-family homes and condominiums priced in excess of $2 million in Miami-Dade County showed their first increase in fourth-quarter sales since 2006. After a steady decline for the past three years in the number of luxury sales in this upper-end category, 61 homes and condominiums across MiamiDade were closed
during the fourth quarter 2009 through the South Florida Regional Multiple Listing Service (MLS)... an 11% increase over the same period in 2008. Other promising data showed a decrease in the number of months of remaining supply. There was an existing supply of 57 months inventory for homes and condos priced greater than $2 million on December 31, 2009 compared with a supply of 77 months at the end of December, 2008. Buyers continue to respond to the excellent values that are now being offered by home sellers.
