Naming Convention

3.1 Naming Convention General Rules  English is the only language used in all naming  Use only letters A-Z, number 0-9 for all fields  Use (underscore [ _ ]) between Sectors  Use (hyphen [ - ]) for spacing in the same Sector  DO NOT use (dots ‘.’), (Space) or special characters < > / \ | etc.  The file extension shall not be edited or deleted  If a particular type of Revit® content doesn’t have a separate naming scheme yet, general rules shall be applied. This type of content will get an own scheme at a certain point.

3.2 BIM Files Naming Convention Not all information on a project will be originated, exchanged or managed in a BIM format. This information will also need to be managed in a consistent and structured way to enable efficient and accurate information exchange. The file naming fields should be as following: Example: SC0009_FIB_B01_XX_SD_EL_CT_V19.rvt Sr. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
