Oman \u2013 The Middle East's best kept secret

Having started in 1969 with two sand courses the game of golf in Oman has grown from humble beginnings and now has six golf courses, five of which are grassed, all located in close proximity to the capital city Muscat.

The country’s undeniable beauty, authenticity, and welcoming year-round climate make golf an ideal activity to support the growth of tourism as well as a providing healthy and wholesome pastime for its residents, both Omani and expatriate.

Work done by the Ministry of Tourism, who have identified golf as a key supporter of tourism, and the global exposure gained from the European Challenge Tour and European Tour events have placed one of the Middle East’s best kept secrets firmly on the world stage.

Golf Oman now looks to consolidate and coordinate this interest to ensure that golf in the Sultanate of Oman is offered to all and continues to grow.
