DINARD GOLF CLUB This stunning links may remind you of classic British (more specifically, Scottish) courses such as Turnberry. Our opinion: A must play for all golfers. Not long but can be very difficult. Favourite Hole: 6th.

GOLF DU DOMAINE DES ORMES Situated between St Malo and Comborg, Des Ormes is set in a 370 acre estate surrounding a 16th century château. Our opinion: A wonderful complex which has a hotel, superb facilities and a great course. Favourite Hole: 10th.

GOLF DE GRANVILLE Located at Bréville, Golf de Granville is a true links and offers sensational views across to the Channel Islands. Our opinion: A ‘must play’ if you enjoy links golf. Favourite Hole: 5th.

HOTEL MERCURE DINAN**** Pretty old stone houses line the quay, many of which have been converted into great restaurants or traditional crêperies and across the river just a little further along you can enjoy the delights and comforts of this charming hotel.

GOLF DE RENNES ST JACQUES This is an impressive championship course renowned for the quality and speed of its greens which you will find well protected. Our opinion: This course produces many very good players and is a good test. Favourite Hole: 5th.

GOLF DE LA FRESLONNIÈRE Freslonnière was opened in 1989 and designed by Alain du Bouexic. It is a high-class parkland course. Our opinion: Good for the short accurate player. Favourite Hole: 8th.

GOLF DE CICÉ BLOSSAC This course is very much in the American style. Suitable for all golfers, it’s an easy walk and has wide open fairways and large greens. Our opinion: Another very good course worth playing in the Rennes area. Favourite Hole: 9th.

MERCURE CENTRE PARLEMENT, RENNES**** Originally a printing works, the Mercure Parlement is on a quiet street right in the city centre and has comfortable, air conditioned bedrooms and a cosy bar.

Sail overnight from Plymouth to Roscoff with cabin, arrive the following morning.

Play St Samson en route to Sables d’Or les Pins where you will then stay for 3 nights at the Hotel Diane.

Depart Roscoff on the afternoon sailing back to Plymouth.

GOLF DE ST SAMSON Designed by the famous Hawtree and Son St Samson is a joy to play as it twists and turns through pine forest and moorland. Our opinion: Only a short drive from Roscoff, this is a perfect location for a short break. Favourite Hole: 12th.

GOLF DES SABLES D’OR LES PINS The old 9 hole links course has been developed into a magnificent 18 hole course on the sands of Fréhel. Our opinion: A pleasant short links style course on the north Brittany coast. Favourite Hole: 13th.

GOLF DE PLÉNEUF VAL ANDRÉ With exceptional views along the coast, Pléneuf-Val-André is an outstanding seaside course. Our opinion: A genuine ‘must play’ course and annual fixture on the European Challenge Tour. Favourite Hole: 9th.

GOLF LES AJONCS D’OR Lying between St Brieuc and Paimpol near Brittany’s northern coast, this course takes its name from the lovely yellow gorse which covers much of the parkland and wooded areas. Our opinion: A ‘must play’ when in Brittany. Favourite Hole: 6th.

HOTEL DE DIANE, SABLES D’OR*** The charming Hotel de Diane is in the village centre and has a cosy bar with a lovely friendly atmosphere, an elegant dining room which extends out into a conservatory and a pleasant garden.
