ENERGY RECOVERY TECHNOLOGY “Waste-to-Energy”
Energy Recovery Technology
Wood and wood-like materials typically comprise 70% or more of landfill destined waste. These organic materials in landfill become a large contributor to GHG emissions and “Climate Change”.
Eco-Growth has developed a technology that converts these wood and woodlike wastes to clean usable energy. The energy derived is considered carbon neutral (Paris Protocol on Climate Change) and is typically used to offset conventional fossil fuels (drives carbon offsets through reduced GHG from fossil fuels). The waste-to-energy technology was registered to operate under the “Energy Recovery” Protocols in the Province of Alberta in 2014. Our Energy Recovery technology utilizes innovative refractory materials and moving combustion bed to achieve consistent elevated operating temperatures with zero visible emissions. The technology is currently available in a 120,000 and 300,000 btu per hour configuration. The “Energy Recovery” technology is designed to operate using organic materials as the lone fuel source (no additional fuel required). In most cases the waste materials require some level of processing or upgrading prior to use as a feedstock in the “Energy Recovery” technology.
Wood-like fiber feedstock
Eco-Growth produces a line of Rapid Dehydration and size-reduction technologies which produce ready-to-use Energy Recovery (biomass) feedstock.
Technology Approval
Cardboard / Paper Waste The use of high calorific feedstock is the key to “Energy Recovery” technology optimization. Dry organic wastes, such as wood, cardboard and paper can be prepared for use as a feedstock through a simple size reduction process. Eco-Growth produces a 100% stainless-steel shredder which quickly reduces waste wood, cardboard and paper into ready-to-use feedstock for the “Energy Recovery” system.
Eco-Shred Stainless Shredder
Food Waste / Biosolids On average food and sewage waste is comprised off 80% water and 20% solids. The 20% solids, once de-watered, make an ideal high calorific feedstock. EcoGrowth produces a line of dehydrators designed to rapidly dry wet biomass wastes producing an ideal feedstock for the “Energy Recovery” technology. Eco-Growth dehydrators are available in #150, #750, and #1,500 pound per day size capacity. The technology utilizes proprietary “Rapid Dry” technology which operate at 70% efficiency. To produce feedstock with 100 kWh of energy potential typically consumes 30 kWh of electrical energy in the dehydration process.
