Floor Matting ▪

Maintaining floor matting is one of the most energy intensive aspects of a buildings “Supply Chain.”

Is essential Building Protection Equipment as they prevent slips, trips and falls. Floor Matting requires regular maintenance like any other piece of equipment. Proper maintenance of floor matting is normally 1x month with carpet extraction or 1x week with an outside mat service. Both maintenance procedures comes with a large carbon footprint.

Industrial Laundries Are Energy Intensive ▪ High water use – pumping and treating fresh and sewer water is extremely energy intensive. ▪ Heating water with natural gas for wash purposes is extremely energy intensive. ▪ Operating large laundry equipment consumes large amounts of electrical energy. ▪ Operating gas dryers consumes large volumes of natural gas. ▪ The combined energy intensity associated with cleaning just a single 4’x6’ floor mat = 22.6 lbs. CO2 using conventional laundry processes.
