Spotting Andean condors in Colca Canyon, visiting La Calera natural hot springs and tucking into fresh Ceviche near the port of Paracas, are just some of Holger’s favourite experiences on our Essential Peru adventure. But he said, “After two decades of guiding groups across South America, nothing compares to the moment when you catch that first glimpse of Machu Picchu. It’s a place I could visit over and over again. I like to be seen as that local friend you will always have here in Peru, and to show you one of the world’s wonders is an honour for me.” He continues,

“I also particularly enjoy the traditional homestay on Amantani Island in Lake Titicaca and the morning visit to the Uros Island, as it allows the group a unique opportunity to interact with the locals and indigenous Uros people and hear fascinating local legends, you simply wouldn’t get if you travelled on your own. On one of the last days, I like to take my group to the sunset viewpoint overlooking the Plaza de Armas in Arequipa. On clear days you get uninterrupted views of the Basilica Cathedral on the left and Mount Misti on the right.”
