Global Perspective. Global Network.
EDITOR’S
NOTE
I hope you had a great summer! Inevitably though, like all good things, even the famously long French holiday season must ultimately come to an end, and Paris is now winding up again for another year of action.
The International School of Management offers four fully accredited degrees in international business management for young professionals and senior executives:
International MBA, DBA and PhD. With a combination of e-learning and intensive seminars held in Paris, New York, Shanghai, New Delhi, São Paulo, and Cape Town, students have many flexible learning options and the opportunity to be exposed to business practices around the world.
Expatriates Magazine has been pretty active already: On June 26th we launched an exciting campaign, The Best of Paris 2016 - a first for the expatriate community here in Paris. The concept was simple; to give you a voice and the opportunity to acknowledge and vote for the companies, services and achievements you feel deserve recognition for their excellence. With the support of community experts (see page 30) we initially opened 100 voting categories. To our delight, the expat community embraced the project and subsequent nominations flooded in. In total, over 1,200 nominations were made and 26,074 votes were cast. The Best of Paris 2016 has exceeded our expectations, and we would like to thank everyone who took part in and shared the campaign. We have dedicated this month’s issue of Expatriate Magazine to presenting some of the campaign results. Along with the overall winners, we are also highlighting those who may not have won their category but came a close second or third. We feel that they too deserve recognition as ultimately they received enough votes to be a credible source of service.
Now accepting applications for all intakes: January, April, and October
11
I hope you enjoy reading and sharing this issue and that it will be a useful source of information for you. The web site www. best-in.paris will reopen towards the end of September highlighting all the 2016 winners who will remain our ‘Best of Paris’ until we relaunch the campaign next year. In the meantime, I wish you all the best for a very happy rentrée. Kevin Knight

Keaton and Mr BeaL’Enxp”ress
Once upon a time, not so long ago, in three little attic rooms, high up under the roofs overlooking Paris lived a big man, a thin man and a beautiful blonde woman. It might have been a pleasantly romantic story if these three fools didn’t have a gift for failure. Absolutely everything gave them a chance to slip up. While they try to cling to love, hope and life, these fools continually fall prey to accidents and pratical jokes as if they were nothing more than puppets of fate. Their lives resemble a circus of spinning plates, high wire antics and clowns who throw themselves out of the frying pan into the fire while attempting to put it out with a water pistol. Our laughable antiheroes, endearing and irresistible, amaze us and reduce us to tears... of laughter!

PARISMARAIS® celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Created by residents from within, it is the most visited travel guide dedicated to Paris’ favourite district. At PARISMARAIS, we know how it feels to be far from home, and understand the frustration of looking at a new city from the window of an anonymous hotel chain, feeling that you’re not really a part of it all. That’s why our team has selected the very best places to enjoy real Parisian life, right in the heart of Paris. Choose from our fabulous boutique hotels and guesthouses, gourmet yet affordable restaurants, unique boutiques, museums and cultural locations. Book the best hotels in central Paris at the best rates with PARISMARAIS and support a fair trade local company, made in Paris, Made in le Marais.
