farm Crossing Creeks Farm

Shelbyville, TN

"In December of 2012, our family purchased 125 acres located in south central Tennessee, Bedford County. With no permanent driveway, two creeks to cross to access the land, barbed wire fence everywhere and an old hay barn, there was much work ahead to be done. We have made many improvements over the years but the two creeks offer the same beauty. Now two bridges and a driveway cross over the two creeks before they merge into one, producing the name Crossing Creeks Farm.

Shortly after getting married (like literally as soon as we returned home from our very short honeymoon), my parents, Reid and Susan, approached Shane and I with the idea of purchasing land together to start a generational farm. Looking at them cross-eyed, we began to discuss possibilities, and excitement arose in all of us. Little did we know that it would be five years later before we actually purchased the farm. But during that time, we gained so much knowledge and passion. As our love for great tasting, nutrient-dense beef grew, we began to see the need to raise our own 100% grass-fed beef and much more.

Once Noah, our oldest son, blessed our lives, the vision for the farm became clearer. We longed for a place to raise our children with the privilege and responsibility of producing their own food. We loved the idea of them living just a short walk from their grandparent’s home. It’s pretty rare these days to see multi-generations living on the same property-working side by side, raising and schooling children together, and eating regular meals together- but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. It comes with great sacrifice (not every son in-law like Shane would sign up for this lifestyle) but also great reward. Having both our sons, Noah and Caleb here full time, keeps us all on our toes!

With what began as a desire to feed our family the best possible food, a passion has grown for sharing our food with our community. We love the relationships and fellowship that have developed here in our farm store from selling our products directly to the consumer. Sharing our products, journey and farm with you all is truly a joy for us.

As I think back on that first conversation-sitting together in Mom and Dad’s living room-fresh out of college, just married and no children yet, I think to myself 'Boy, we really didn’t know what we were saying yes to but it’s been an amazing journey with much more to come.'

We are so excited for you to join our journey and commitment to 'healing our community one bite at a time.'
