PGA PGM 3.0 - Intro to the PGA PGM Program Acceptable Progress - ✔a policy defined and monitored by The PGA of America that specifies the maximum amount of time a PGA PGM Program participant has to be elected to PGA membership. - Level 1: 2 years from level 1 start date - Level 2: 2 years from level 2 start date - Level 3: testing and election to PGA membership must occur within 8 years of level 1 start date Course Manual - ✔the initial component of a course that provides an overview of the course organization and learning outcomes for each course. It also discusses materials, resources, reading assignments and test preparation guidelines. Eligible Employment - ✔A requirement for a PGA Associate in the PGA PGM Program. Associates must be employed in a PGA-approved employment classification on a fulltime bases at the time of registration and must maintain eligible employment throughout the program. Eligible employment is not required for PGA Students. However, they must complete required internships at PGA Recognized Golf Facilities under the same requirements as an associate. Internship - ✔sixteen months of practical training in the golf industry is required of all PGA Students prior to graduation. All internships must be completed following the eligible employment guidelines outlined in The PGA Constitution, Bylaws and Regulations. Knowledge Tests - ✔These objective tests correspond to the information learned in each course. Knowledge tests consisting of multiple-choice and true/false questions must be passed before advancing to the next level. the questions are linked directly to the learning outcomes. PGA Students test at their respective campuses. Level - ✔a grouping of courses, work experiences, and knowledge tests that must be completed to advance in the program Level 3 Management Simulation - ✔the Level 3 Facility Management Simulation allows teams to utilize and apply the learning from all of the courses in the PGA PGM Program. Teams work together to build a facility-wide approach to enhance facility image, customer retention, long-term sustainable programs, and overall financial performance. Teams will compete with each other to present and simulate their approach in this culminating Level 3 experience. Membership Services - ✔The department of The PGA that guides PGA Associates, PGA Students, and PGA Members throughout their careers - from initial registration in


the PGA Professional Golf Management Program to Life Member classification. The services provided include registration for Playing Ability Tests, tracking individual employment histories, monitoring educational qualifications and professional credits, and maintaining accurate registration for tournaments and correct classifications as defined by the PGA Constitution. PGA.org - ✔the PGA member, PGA Associate, and PGA Student website of the PGA of America. PGA PGM Program participants are required to login to PGA.org in order to access the PGA knowledge center and complete the PGA PGM Program PGA Associate - ✔an individual registered in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program PGA Education Faculty - ✔PGA Members who lead seminars, evaluate work experience portfolios, and design curriculum for the PGA PGM Program PGA Golf Management University - ✔An institution offering an accredited PGA Golf Management University Program in conjunction with its regular curriculum PGA Golf Management University Program - ✔a four-and-one-half to five-year structured educational program designed for aspiring PGA Professionals. The college curriculum is accredited by The PGA of America and includes extensive classroom studies, internship experience and player development providing students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry PGA Knowledge Center - ✔the online education portal for PGA Education and the PGA PGM Program. this site is where participants can register, download course materials, monitor progress, and find pertinent information about the program. PGA PGM Mentor PRogram - ✔program providing PGA Students and PGA Associates the opportunity to enhance their learning experience by connecting with PGA Education faculty and PGA Members through phone, email, online networks, and meetings PGA Professional Golf Management Program - ✔the PGA PGM program is an education and training program for aspiring PGA Professionals PGA Member - ✔an individual who has completed all requirements necessary and been elected to membership in The PGA of America PGA Professional - ✔PGA Professionals are the gold standard int he game, serving as leaders throughout the golf industry. they are the recognized experts in growing the game and business of golf, while ushering in a new generation of golfers. PGA Recognized Golf Facility - ✔A golf course or golf range that meets the requirements established by the Association in the PGA Constitution, Bylaws, and Regulations. PGA Student - ✔an individual enrolled in an accredited PGA Golf Management University Program. this individual is not considered a professional in The PGA of America Playing Ability Test (PAT) - ✔a 36-hole performance evaluation designed for the player to demonstrate that they can play a creditable game of golf. either a passing score or a qualifying score must be obtained prior to an individual being eligible to register as a PGA Associate. the PGA Playing Ability Test is a standard required for election to PGA membership and graduation with the PGA Golf Management designation for a PGA Student in an accredited university program.
