The discovery of a mysterious box reconnects her to emotions and a sense of purpose. Is she ready to give up the rhythm of the machine to listen to her own vibration? Resistance. Arise. He dreams about a relationship with him, and when the two go camping, this dream seems to become reality for Marc, until he discovers a secret that destroys all his hope. Wasteland is a short coming-of-age story about the first serious love of a young boy and the complexities of feeling this love can bring. A film by Marco Van Bergen, presented by Chimney Films. BOY – 7:50 (Follow ed by Interval) A young man on a road trip travelling to visit a father he barely knows meets a young man travelling to see his dying mother. Challenging the barriers that silence emotional expression these travellers form an intuitive bond. Filmed in Clunes and its surrounding towns, Boy is a locally made independent film starring Luke Rogers and Ben O’Connor. Presented by Chipped Tooth Films. Running Time 30 Minutes (Australia) CODEPENDENT LESBIAN SPACE SEEKS SAME – 8:45PM Three aliens are sent to earth. Their mission? To have their hearts broken by earthlings so their overactive emotions won’t destroy the ozone of their planet. As the fetching extraterrestrials search for romance on the New York lesbian dating scene, one finds love with Jane, an eager stationery store clerk who is oblivious to the fact that she’s dating an alien. The other two, discovering the neediness of the earthling women, connect with each other as they reflect on the beauty of cheesecake in a revolving dessert case. A film by Madeleine Olnek. Running Time 76 minutes (USA) THE LANGUAGE OF LOV E – 10:00pm Kim Ho, 17, wrote and stars in this incredible short film that is both a coming-of-age and coming-out short. The Language of Love is directed by Laura Scrivano and is part of the Australian Theatre for Young People’s The Voices Project. Running Time 9.23 minutes (Australia)
