Sarah and Charlie’s big day was a springtime dream come true, nestled in the heart of the lush Lenhardt Garden. With a little magic from the creative geniuses at Emma Ivey Events and Festoon, the whole affair was a vibrant ode to the season, bursting with the freshest, most colorful blooms.
Every corner radiated the joy of spring, with tables adorned in a riot of blossoms, from peonies to roses and daffodils. The linens, like a canvas of springtime hues, were speckled with playful floral patterns, courtesy of BBJ La Tavola.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, guests dug into a feast fit for the season, courtesy of Harvest Catering, while tunes by the Station Seven Band kept everyone on their feet.
And when the time came to bid adieu, Sarah and Charlie dashed through a tunnel of sparklers, hopping into a whimsically decorated vintage limousine, ready to drive off into their own springtime sunset, forever blooming together.

Best Practices For Securing A Room Block
• Hotel room blocks for weddings allow guests to stay in the same hotel and make planning and transportation a breeze.
• Start looking at hotels in close proximity to your reception venue, next consider their amenities, and finally price point.
• You should reserve room blocks with at least two hotels if you are having a lot of out-of-town guests and a larger-thanaverage guest list of over 200.
• You will need to share your expected arrival and departure dates, as well as any special requests you’re hoping the property can accommodate, like welcome bags or in-room gifts.
• Book a smaller number of rooms at first and add more later in order to avoid penalties if rooms go unreserved.
• Once you’ve found a property that meets your requirements, you will need to negotiate the contract terms. This is where a wedding planner’s industry experience becomes invaluable.
• Once your contract is signed, share the booking information with your guests on your wedding website, via email, and on your save-the-dates.

What You Didn’t Know About Four of Charleston’s Historic Wedding Venues
Charleston is renowned for its warm hospitality and picturesque architecture. But it’s what you don’t know about some of our historic wedding venues that might surprise you. Each unique location has been lovingly restored to welcome couples celebrating their big day.
Lowndes Grove
Built in 1786, this historic waterfront estate offers majestic views of the Ashley River, providing stunning sunsets and river breezes. Most recently, Lowndes Grove appeared in the hit Netflix series, Outer Banks, as Sarah Cameron’s family home.
William Aiken House
The William Aiken House’s vibrant yellow façade, sweeping piazzas, and 100-year-old oak trees captivate guests with 1800s allure. Finely appointed antiques create a charming interior reminiscent of the first 100+ years of its life as the Southern Railway’s headquarters. In 2004, it was the backdrop for Ali’s memorable wedding dress fitting scene in The Notebook.
American Theater
Located in the heart of upper King Street, the American Theater’s iconic marquee shines bright throughout downtown Charleston, and its art deco design pays tribute to the 1940s era in which it was built. In 2004, it provided the romantic backdrop for the beginning of Ali and Noah’s love story in The Notebook.
Parcel 32
Originally a family home built in 1837, Parcel 32 has been renovated and restored over the years, serving as a bakery, a shoe repair shop, a restaurant, and most recently, an intimate event venue. Its location, cuisine, stunning upstairs cocktail lounge, and historic design make it the perfect setting for rehearsal dinners and micro weddings.

A WINTER LOWCOUNTRY GARDEN
Boone Hall Plantation
Charleston Native, Martha Camille, dreamed of an elegant Lowcountry affair for her February 2024 wedding. Planner, Natalie Knox Rosenzweig from Boone Hall took her inspiration and created a dreamy evening filled with crisp white florals and cool winter blues. Martha Camille and Jordan met at the end of Boone Hall’s extended aisle to exchange memorable vows. They said their “I Do’s” in front of a beautifully adorned cross; sentimental of the faith they both share. After the garden ceremony, guests strolled down the champagneadorned Avenue of Oaks to the Cotton Dock. Guests were greeted by a grand custom-painted bar with large floral arches. The Cotton Dock was filled with lush greenery, chandeliers, and heavy florals creating an inspired and sophisticated atmosphere. Guests were drawn to the marsh views and cozy lounges on the dock. This lively group danced the night away with Evolution Band. Guests were elated with the surprise of the Clemson Cub and USC Cocky Mascots. Late-night snacks were also passed around; Chick-fil-A sandwiches, Individual Jeni’s Ice Cream, and Custom Coke Bottles were the cherry on top of an evening full of love and entertainment. To wind down the night guests gathered around a fire pit and enjoyed a coffee bar to keep them warm before Martha Camille and Jordan rode away in a Vintage Bronco as the happily married newlyweds!

The Admiral’s House
This Neo-Classical estate, also known as The Admiral’s House, stands at the former Navy Base in North Charleston. It was built in 1905 for the Commandant of the Charleston Navy Yard. Officially called Quarters A, this house boasts features that are indicative of its residents’ high rank.
The Admirals who lived here hosted countless parties, dinners and formal affairs. This home features 5 bedrooms, 5 and 2 1⁄2 baths, a southern classic 2 story porch, and beautiful Oak trees that are over 100 years old!
The majestic estate is available for weddings and events with the additional offering of overnight stays.
1311 Navy Way, North Charleston, SC 29405 • visitnorthcharleston.com/riverfront-park-venues
A short walk up from Riverfront Park sits The Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel. The Chapel was originally located on the southern section of the Navy Base and built in 1942. It was completed in 1944, which served as a non-denominational chapel for all sailors and their families. In 2006, the City of North Charleston, along with the Charleston Naval
Redevelopment Authority initiated plans to restore and relocate the chapel about a mile from the original location to it’s new location amid the historic officer’s housing. The chapel still features some of the original doors, windows, light fixtures and pews. This has become the perfect venue for weddings, cultural concerts and productions.
Down the steps from the Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel is Quarters F, known now as the Gatekeepers Inn. The two story late Victorian-era home was a cottage for the keeper of Chicora Park, a public park commissioned in 1895 by the City of Charleston and designed by the Olmsted brothers. The building was constructed in 1898. The residence was purchased by the United States Navy in 1901, for the Admiral until a larger home was completed. The Gatekeepers Inn is
the oldest quarters in the historic officer’s housing district. This beautiful 4-bedroom home boosts 3 full bathrooms, and additional 3-1/2 baths. The home also features a large dining room, sitting room, morning porch, music room and solarium overlooking the grounds of the Chapel. This is a perfect addition for the wedding parties to stay the night before the ceremony, a romantic getaway, or all of life’s special moments.
Quarters K was built in 1937 for officers and their families at the Charleston Naval Base and overlooks Riverfront Park along with the Cooper River. The design of the living quarters mimic that of homes built near the Panama Canal during the early 20th century. The layout of the interior includes 3 upstairs rooms, 2 bathrooms, and a distinctive
“T” shaped area through the center of the venue, which incorporates large windows throughout the entire venue. After the City of North Charleston acquired the properties in 2013, it immediately began redesigning and creating a venue space for weddings, receptions, business meetings, and retreats.

Quarters H&I was built in 1905 originally for the Officers of The Charleston Naval Base to use as their headquarters. During World War I, the home was converted into duplex style living Quarters to accommodate the ever growing population of the base. A new headquarters was built further in the industrial district of the base. Over the years, two identical porches were
added, as well as the interior converted back into offices. The Lawn of Quarters H & I, is the perfect location to host many events including, welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies, receptions, and much more. The venue has been designed with several vignettes on the perimeter of the lawn to allow special settings for catering, lounging, and more.

Charleston’s Most Celebrated Caterer Commemorates 45 Years and the Launch of Their Flagship Venue

As Hamby Catering approached their 45th year, they used the momentum that had gotten them through decades of reputed service to manifest their largest dream to date: their own venue.
Launched in the Fall of 2023, The Rutledge Room, Hamby Catering’s flagship event space in downtown Charleston, is intimate in nature, yet robust in versatility, amenities and partnerships. Given their extensive industry knowledge, Hamby Catering took into consideration all the details clients – particularly brides – would want covered.

RHODES HOME & GIFT
5 Steps to a Beautiful & Useful Registry with Rhodes Home and Gift
At Rhodes Home & Gift, we understand the importance of building a beautiful and useful registry. Here are five steps to help you create yours:
1. Choose your china: Start with an everyday option like Casafina’s “Eivissa” line and then select an elevated option like the “Calypso” line of fine china from Royal Crown Derby for displaying and special occasions.
2. Build your dream bed: With a base of luxurious Sferra sheeting, add layers of pattern, color, and texture with duvets, shams, and throw pillows from Matouk. Tie it all together with an embroidered throw!
3. Beautify your baths: Incorporate embroidered Matouk towels personalized with your new monogram. Mix and match bath items like a tissue box cover and shower curtain in the same color palette to complete the look.
4. Equip your kitchen: Level up your cooking game with cast iron vessels from Smithey Ironware and precision knives from Claude Dozorme Sarl. Add a few cookbooks and you’ll be ready to start hosting supper club!
5. Go for the glam: Glamor isn’t reserved for your special day only. Find something a bit“over the top” that you adore, but would never buy for yourself. Maybe a large piece of coastal artwork or a Ginori 1735 Ming vase. Why not register for it? That may be someone special’s perfect gift idea after all.
We’re here to help you implement all of the steps above whenever you’re ready, and we promise to make your registry experience exceptional! Sip, shop and select items you’ll love making memories with for years to come.
And while you’re here, remember to shop Rhodes Boutique for wedding celebration attire, bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts, and more!

THE CHARLESTON PLACE
Opulence and Glamour from a Bygone Era
When Jenn and Justin visited the 1930s Art Deco-inspired Riviera Theater, they knew they found the historic venue they had been searching for. Situated along King Street and adorned with original marquee lighting and geometric marble floors, The Riviera served as both the perfect backdrop for their elegant affair and a gathering place for their closest friends and family. The Riviera was utilized for both the ceremony and reception and used as inspiration for the rich hues, sophisticated blooms, and vintage motifs found within the event design. The couple’s first look took place at The Charleston Place, located across the street, before the November ceremony began. The timeless beauty of the hotel’s signature grand staircase was further accentuated by Jenn’s dramatic train cascading down each step. The night concluded with a tunnel of sparklers leading the new couple out under a custom marquee stating “From This Day Forward, Justin and Jenn”.

CHARLESTON VACATION PACKAGES
Indulge in a Charleston getaway customized to suit your newly married status. Whether you’re craving culinary escapades, dreaming of a romantic honeymoon, or seeking eco-friendly adventures as a couple, discover the ideal Charleston vacation package crafted just for you.
Holy City Honeymoon
Each turn of a Charleston corner unfolds yet more delights for the eye, its soft pastel parade of grand homes, and the beauty beyond its garden gates, too. The architecture and subtropical clime are in their own fine romance, coming together in Carolina culture that bursts vibrantly in every new sight and every new bite.
It’s no wonder artists of every stripe have long been drawn to these storied streets, and why an interlude in Charleston stays in a traveler’s mind for decades. What better place for a honeymoon, then that first celebrated stop in a lifelong adventure?
Long hosting weddings from near and far, this jewel of a city is equally unmatched for the next charmed chapter: a honeymoon like no other.
Day One
Settle in at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina, perched over Charleston Harbor for you to take in the stunning city skyline. At the resort you’ll find plenty to enthrall you, starting with the 30,000-foot tropical pool deck, the city’s only waterfront Tiki Bar, and a host of offerings for a stellar stay.
Hoofing It For a rhapsodic stretch of harbor and horizon, head for the pedestrian path on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge Jr. Bridge. Then make your way to the iconic Waterfront Park with its welcoming, photo-friendly pineapple fountain – and further still toward the Battery on the tip of the peninsula for optimal views of Fort Sumter. Or catch a ride on horse-drawn transport by way of Palmetto Carriage Works, with an informed guide at the reins.
Think Clink Staying at Hotel Bennett?
The Charleston skyline’s the limit for honeymooners and other guests seeking a pre-dinner toast and a panoramic view of Charleston from on high at the rooftop bar.
Courtly Pleasures Tucked away on beguiling Queen Street is 82 Queen. The treasured restaurant boasts a majestic courtyard with an epic magnolia tree dating back three centuries. It doesn’t get much more Charleston than this, both its evocative setting and its starlit, wonderfully Southern cuisine.
Day Two
Get set to broaden your Lowcountry horizons. Beyond the beloved historic district, a Carolina honeymoon should save a big hug for its idyllic coastal locale punctuated by undulating dunes and in constant motion with its leaping fish and swooping birdlife. By land or by water, venture out.
Island Time Smoothly switch gears to honeymoon mode with a visit to Isle of Palms, the balmy barrier island sure to deliver a beachy release. Settle in for lunch at Islander 71, a fish house and deck bar sure to soothe your senses, Southern-style.
Let It Wash Over You In Charleston, the Lowcountry waterways beckon. Consider a kayak excursion with Coastal Expeditions, which promises a full-on foray into singular, salty terrain. Along the pristine coastline, you’ll together take in swaying salt marsh estuaries, lush hammock islands, and tranquil egrets gliding by as you do.
Reel In Relaxation A post-paddle pickme-up is surely in order, and you’re to find agreeable refreshments and local flavor at Reel Bar. Festooned with antique tackle in a chilled-out atmosphere, it’s a brilliant top-off to seafaring sojourns.
Designs On Dining If there was ever an occasion for elevated dining, a postwedding getaway calls for it. Charlestonchic design and exquisite fare, right in Mount Pleasant’s fabled Old Village, can be found at Post House, a celebration of the senses worthy of the occasion.
Day Three
From phenomenal shopping to a transporting spa treatment, now is the time to luxuriate throughout the city. Set the tone for the lifelong adventure ahead with ample pampering of the finest order.
Raw Appeal When it comes to raw bars, Charleston is your oyster. A range of superior bivalves from near and far are ready and chilled to perfection at The Darling Oyster Bar, a darling in its own right marrying chic décor and briny delights.
Day Four
It’s romance, after all, that brought you to this alluring city by the sea. From its famously elegant live oaks adorned with hanging moss to its breathtaking architecture, this romantic haven feels the love, and you will, too.
Bring On The Basket Nothing conjures Cupid like a picnic basket brimming with culinary gems. Salthouse Catering has dreamed one up for your Charleston outing, with its gourmet to-go basket ready for enjoying.
