Spotters guide: wonderful wildflowers

Get out in the Essex Country Parks and spot some wonderful wildflowers

By early summer many open spaces are bursting with colour and life in those areas that have been left untouched, meaning a stunning variety of wildflowers can grow unchecked. These grasslands and meadows are incredibly important for encouraging biodiversity and supporting those all-important pollinators, as well as being incredibly beautiful and picturesque. We’ve pulled together some of the wildflowers you are likely to find in the Essex Country Parks, as recommended by our rangers.

Bee Orchids Cow Parsley Ox-Eye Daisy

Birdsfoot Trefoil Foxglove Poppy

Common Gorse Grass Vetchling Red Bartisa

Cornflower Greater Stitchwort Scabious
