INDEPENDENCE CENTER MALL

HISTORIC AND CONVENIENT OPTIONS

F

or many travelers, shopping ranks high on the itinerary. We’ve been helping adventure travelers stock up on supplies for more than 170 years! Whether you want to bag a few mementos, replace something you forgot to pack, or take home some local specialties, you’ll find shops full of treasures.

INDEPENDENCE CENTER

HISTORIC INDEPENDENCE SQUARE

18801 E. 39th located at I-70 and M-291 (816) 795.0770 www.independence-center.com Independence Center is a wonderful climate-controlled mall offering 117 stores, featuring Forever 21, Sephora, Coach, PINK, Pandora, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Carhartt and Express. There are also several dining options from sit-down restaurants such as Applebee’s, to grab-and-go restaurants like Noodles and Company. To top it off, they offer the area’s largest indoor Children’s Play Area which includes a full-size carousel. With over 100 stores, Independence Center® is truly one of the main shopping destinations in the area.

112 W. Lexington Ave. (816) 461.0065 www.theindependencesquare.com Anchored in the center by the Truman Courthouse, the historic Independence Square is a revitalized district filled with shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities. History lovers have often visited Independence, Missouri, to see where Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States, lived the majority of his life. The Square is an immediate focal point, with tours on horse drawn carriages, the courthouse and Clinton’s Soda Fountain, where President Truman had his first job as a youth. However, history is only a small part of what makes the Independence Square an experience for both travelers and locals. A wide array of locally owned businesses has flourished, adding fine dining, bowling, an art gallery and much more. Whether you’re doing a day trip or date night, the Independence Square represents a variety of excellent options. Shop, dine and unwind!

ENGLEWOOD ARTS DISTRICT Winner Rd. and Sterling Ave. (816) 254.9044 www.englewoodstation.com The Englewood Arts District is home to locally-owned art galleries, shops and dining. Every third Friday at the Englewood Art Walk, dozens of shops open their doors throughout the evening, displaying visual and performing arts.
