No one is more excited to enjoy our beaches now that the sand project is complete than the residents of beautiful Cape Canaveral! It’s summertime, so remember— school is out; be SAFE and watch out for our children + visitors!

We have so many exciting projects, improvements and events going on in our City! The number one way you can keep up with all the progress and event schedules is through our Weekly Updates: cityofcapecanaveral.org/weekly_update. The Weekly Update is a comprehensive, department-wide weekly digest of what’s going on in our City! You can subscribe via email or view issues online at your leisure.

#SummerOfSpace is evolving and with it so is the culture of our great City! Part of the Summer of Space initiatives include: a large, permanent, space-themed mural; awesome, colorful space-themed traffic cabinet wraps placed around the City; and a photo exhibit of 50-year-old throwback pictures in our City Hall lobby! We couldn’t be prouder to be a huge part of the 50 th anniversary of the Moon landing! More information on the City’s Summer of Space program can be found here: cityofcapecanaveral.org/space.

Looking to be more involved with the future of our City? We’d love to see you at our City Council meetings! The next one is Tuesday, July 16 th at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Don’t worry if you can’t attend; meeting video recordings are available solely online on our YouTube Channel (bit.ly/2KGJTGD) and City Council meeting agendas and meeting minutes (which include voting results) can be found online at cityofcapecanaveral.org/public_records. Looking to be more than an attendee? Two City Council members are needed during the upcoming election, and there are also several volunteer advisory board positions open! Please visit cityofcapecanaveral.org/election and cityofcapecanaveral.org/advisory_boards for more information on how YOU can help shape the future of #TheSpaceBetween!

We have a lot of “hot topic” items up for discussion at City meetings, including the Multi- Generational Facility planning and City-wide re-zoning initiatives (cityofcapecanaveral.org/city_code_changes). Please contact the City staff for real answers to any questions you might have about ANY City initiatives, ordinances or potential changes. Staff is always happy to squash rumors and give factual information!

I look forward to seeing you around the City!

Thanks,

Robert E. Hoog
