With the support of the Camps teams on the ground, students live and work in rural communities while empowering residents to generate income. Explorica travellers also contribute in numerous ways to protect the environment and conserve wildlife.

Camps in South America: Ecuador, Peru
Over 50% of the rural communities in the highlands live below the poverty line. Explorica groups will therefore be combatting high malnutrition levels, building greenhouses and educating on nutrition. Planting trees by the thousands, we will also be caring for the environment in this uniquely biodiverse part of the world.
Other program highlights for our students:
– Trek to World Heritage Site, Machu Picchu – Meet tribes in the Amazon Rainforest – Explore the world famous Galapagos Islands – Visit Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake on earth – Dance with the local Quechua communities
Camps in Central America: Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a fairly small country, but it is still one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world. Visitors can explore the Pacific or Caribbean coasts, volcanoes, and rainforests and encounter countless species of mammal, insect, reptile, and bird. While the environment is impressive, there is much more to tempt visitors to Costa Rica. Adventure awaits around every corner, and the unique culture of La Pura Vida beckons through food, music, and art.

Camps in East Africa: Tanzania
With the support of the Camps team in East Africa, Explorica student travellers will live and work as part of the community, helping locals in a sustainable way to support various conservation efforts and safeguard the future of Tanzania's famous wildlife and natural beauty.

– Climb Kilimanjaro – Go on a big game safari – Play football with the local children – Cook chapattis with local women – Watch a red African sunset over the savannah
Camps in Southeast Asia: Borneo, Cambodia
Southeast Asia's rich cultural history means that it’s one of the few regions in the world where you can trek lush jungles and stumble upon lost temples and forgotten cities, which stand in contrast to the larger capital cities of Phnom Penh and Jakarta. Explorica students engaged in projects in the region will help safeguard the vulnerable habitat against deforestation and improve the area's education infrastructure.
