DRAMA AND EMOTION ALL SEASON IN THE HIGH STAKES, GROUNDBREAKING GCL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

With drama and emotion all season in the high stakes, groundbreaking GCL team championship, the rivalry between teams has reached fever pitch where the GC Prague Playoffs will provide the perfect platform for the ultimate battle of the best as teams fight for a podium spot in the coveted GCL Super Cup.

Throughout the 2022 season, the 16 GCL teams have been fighting tooth and nail for every valuable ranking point, collected at each event on the global circuit. The GCL overall classification is based on each team’s points earned at every GCL event and the top four teams, Berlin Eagles powered by Fundis, new team Stockholm Hearts powered by H&M, home team Prague Lions and previous GCL Super Cup winners Shanghai Swans will now fasttrack their way to the Semi-Finals of the GCL Super Cup on Friday.

The top four places have been in the minds of team managers as they selected from their roster of six riders throughout the season, playing their star strikers strategically across the very different events — from expansive grass field of play such as Madrid to the small sand arena nestled alongside Monaco’s famous yacht harbour, knowing your athletes and their horses has proven crucial to a successful season-long campaign.

This GCL Super Cup will consist of a team Quarter-Final, a Semi-Final and Final. The Quarter-Final, held over one 1.55m round, is open to 12 teams with three riders per team those placed 5th to 16th on the GCL overall team standings prior to the GC Prague Playoffs.

The best eight placed teams according to the aggregate time and faults for each of the three riders then qualify for the Semi-Final the following day where they will be joined by the top four teams on the GCL overall team rankings. The best six teams then go into combat in the Final on Sunday held over two different 1.60m rounds against the clock.

2021 saw London Knights lift the prestigious trophy as the knockout competition format saw many others fall by the wayside In a dramatic, intense and highly unpredictable competition. With 6 million euros on offer alone for the GCL and the promise of passion, drama and glory the race to the ultimate showdown is on.

VYSOKÉ SÁZKY NA DRAMA A EMOCE PO CELOU SEZONU VYVRCHOLÍ PŘELOMOVÝM ŠAMPIONÁTEM GCL

Díky dramatům a emocím po celou sezónu, dosáhne rivalita mezi týmy svého vrcholu na přelomovém šampionátu Global Champions League. GC Prague Playoffs poskytne dokonalý prostor pro finální bitvu těch nejlepších ekip, které se utkají o umístění na stupních vítězů GCL Super Cupu.

Po celou letošní sezonu bojovalo 16 týmů zuby nehty o každý bod do světového žebříčku. Celková klasifikace GCL je součtem bodů, které jednotlivé týmy nasbíraly během všech zastávek Global Champions League. Čtveřice nejlepších týmů – Berlin Eagles podporovaný společností Fundis, nový tým Stockholm Hearts podporovaný módní značnkou H&M, domácí tým Prague Lions a předchozí vítězové GCL Super Cupu Shanghai Swans mají zajištěn přímý postup do pátečního semifinále.

Manažeři jednotlivých týmů trávili bezesné noci, aby ze svých šestičlenných sestav vybrali čtyři nejlepší jezdce pro každou zastávek letošní tour. Ať už se jednalo o obrovské travnaté pole v Hamburku nebo malou písčitou arénu poblíž monackého přístavu. Jen dokonale zvládnutá taktika a perfektní znalost jednotlivých jezdců pomohla manažerům překonat jejich noční můry.

GCL Super Cup se bude skládat z týmového čtvrtfinále, semifinále a finále. Jednokolové čtvrtfinále s překážkami do 155 cm je otevřeno vždy trojici jezdců z 12 týmů, které se v celkovém pořadí GCL před GC Prague Playoffs umístily mezi 5. a 16. místem.

Osm nejlépe umístěných týmů v součtu časů a počtu trestných bodů všech tří jezdců se kvalifikuje do semifinále, do kterého se připojí i čtyři nejlepší týmy z celkového pořadí GCL. Šest nejlepších ekip se utká v nedělním finále ve dvoukolovém souboji s časem a překážkami do 160 cm.

V roce 2021 nakonec pozvedly prestižní trofej London Knights. Vyřazovací fáze soutěže nabídly mnoho dramatických a nepředvídatelných okamžiků. Velké finále Global Champions League s dotací 6 milionů eur je příslibem vášně, dramatických okamžiků a slávy.
