What happens when a Georgia Peach takes a bite of the Big Apple? She enters the Forbidden Forest… “Our films are seductive and beautifully crafted cinema,” says Jincey, a two time Georgia debutante who landed a job in New York City as a fashion attorney but gained fame writing an anonymous sex blog. The blog lead to Jincey ditching law and launching Digiromp.com, the popular social networking site where women share their erotic lesbian experiences. It was through Digiromp.com that Jincey learned she wasn’t the only lesbian who found the girl-on-girl porn being sold in stores unappealing.
eXpression! December 2010
The adult entertainment industry hasn’t changed much in its long history. For years, films were made by-men-for-men, with little consideration for the needs of women. Finally, that is about to change. Jincey Lumpkin, Esq. and her brand, Juicy Pink Box, are introducing a new form of adult entertainment: high quality, stylish and immensely sensual product by-ladies-for-ladies who love ladies. Juicy Pink Box is glamorizing lesbian sex by presenting erotic encounters in an uptown chic way. It may just change the way the world views lesbians.

“The only films available at the time were the rough dyke porn coming out of San Francisco and the vulgar gay-for-pay porn made to fulfill the fantasies of straight men,” explains Jincey. “The women of Digiromp.com hungered for ambience and atmosphere. We craved to see ladies in gorgeous wardrobes and styling that highlighted their shapes and curves. We wanted to experience the power of a true connection, and enjoy multi-sensory stimulation that slowly guided us to climax.” She also realized the Internet offered a new convenience for women. “There is nothing less sexy to a woman than walking into a seedy sex shop with creepy guys ogling at you while you buy porn,” she says. “It’s easier to log on and watch in the privacy and comfort of your home.” As the Boss Lady and Chief Sexy Officer of Juicy Pink Box, Jincey Lumpkin, Esq. oversees all facets of her films’ production and
makes sure that the women stars in them are always in control and empowered. Juicy Pink Box released its first feature film, Taxi. It was the first to take stars from the dyke porn genre and style them into something more classically beautiful. Jincey describes the film as “like Bertolucci…except with fisting.” The next feature, Therapy, a series of ten self-pleasure scenes that take place in a therapist’s office. It’s a fascinating journey inside the women’s minds as each visit to talk about her individual connection to sex. Viewers learn what excites the women, scares them, and what makes them wet. According to Jincey, today’s women are more liberated about discussing their sexual practices. As evidenced in the popularization of hit TV series like Sex and the City and The L Word, “Women love being sexy, and they are embracing all things related to sex.”
That is why Juicy Pink Box is more than its adult film offerings. “Juicy Pink Box is a lifestyle,” Jincey continues. “It’s about living the fantasy of an exclusive world that features glamorous ladies who love ladies.” It’s being compared to Hugh Hefner’s Playboy. As Hef in his smoking jacket once represented the quintessential bachelor, Jincey in her cocktail dress and Gucci heels represents the modern day femme on top of the world.
eXpression! December 2010
“The glamorous world of Juicy Pink Box is not for everyone,” Jincey cautions. “We are for women who crave intense sensuality, soft caresses, and gentle seduction. If you are a woman who finds women super sexy and you fantasize about their curves or their lips on your lips, then we’re here and we welcome you to explore a new frontier.”

Would you consider taking a job if its description included “extremely long hours, extreme physical demands and possible exposure to harsh weathe r conditions, loss of limbs and, oh yeah, death”? Would you be in line at 5am to make sure you sign up for this job? I know I wouldn’t. In part because I’m a wimp and even if I got past the part about terrible hours, I would certainly worry about the weather conditions, as my hair is not always friendly in all environments. Besides that, the possibility of death would most certainly send me running back to the unemployment office.

However, if you are a member of any branch of the military, you’ve ignored all the small prints, you didn’t bother reading between the lines. You put the need for your services ahead of your needs for being comfortable. Instead, you put the needs of others ahead of yours and you paid no attention to the possible dangers laying ahead. You didn’t simply signed up for a job, you took on a mission.

This ability to be selfless is one that I not only am thankful for, I admire profoundly. On Veteran’s Day I make it a habit to silently tip my hat off to all the brave men and women who go out there everyday and serve this country with pride and purpose. On November 11, 2010, I did more than my usual tip of the hat, I actually sat with a Sergeant of the Army and let her tell me her story. This is what I share with you today. Meet Melissa “Meme” Gregorio.

Where did you grow up and how was your childhood? I grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey, in a comfortable middle class home. My parents are still married, I have no siblings…I guess it was a typical childhood, no major dramas. When did you decide to go into the Army? I had always wanted to be in the Army, even as a little kid, but as I grew older I developed an interest in arts and was actually going to school to study graphic arts when the Army kind of happened. How does the Army just happen? When I was 19 I had a girlfriend who wanted to enlist in the military and I went with her for moral support. Once I was there I went ahead and enlisted as well!
eXpression808.com
Wow! Just like that? What did your parents have to say? It was a hard year for them, I had already dropped the girlfriend news on them and then I enlisted… <laughs> But they handled it as well as they could!
14
Were you following someone’s footsteps, is there anyone else in your family in the military? My grandfather fought in the WWII—he was a Kosak, a Russian cowboy of sorts. But I was mostly
attracted to the military because I found it to be very honorable; something worth doing. I was always very athletic and I thought it was something I could do well and that would suit my personality. What was it like when you first started? I enlisted in 2002 and was deployed to Iraq in 2004. We were amongst the first ones there so the conditions were trying at best. I can’t say that it wasn’t scary for a young woman starting in the military, but I don’t regret it. Tell me about that year in Iraq. I had been given a choice of jobs and I wanted to nurture my artistic side so I thought cooking would allow me to do that. I can’t say that I was really clear on what to expect but what I did was cook two meals a day for a thousand people, everyday… weekends, holidays. For that whole year I’d get up at 2:30am and start getting the meals ready. We had an hour break during the day and then there was dinner and I’d finish around 9:00pm. Was there time to be artistic? I was always the one who would put on some kind of garnish. <laughs> I tried! What were the living conditions like? Back then we had to fly into Kuwait and drive for 3 days into Iraq. The weather is beyond hot, 120 degrees plus sand storms. We did a lot of driving and walking in the heat, which is not exactly comfortable in normal circumstances,
“The first step in trying to solve a problem is to step into
What kind of kid were you? A tomboy…always climbing things, doing sports, I actually built a boot camp on my back yard! <laughs> I was very active!
So…not the Hilton? No…not the Hilton, that’s for sure! Have you gone back? I have been deployed 3 times, but it’s gotten much better. Now there are beds and air conditioning, internet…back then it really was rough. I bet you don’t complain much about anything after that, huh? I really don’t, it‘s changed my view of the world completely. And I can’t stand to hear complaints either. It irritates me to hear the new people complain about certain things because I’m always thinking “but you sleep on a mattress!” <laughs> I do feel that I deserve the best now because I’ve had the worse, but I’m very thankful for all that I have. Can you tell if you have served alongside gays? Sure I have! But you know what, when it comes down to getting the job done, there is no difference. It doesn’t matter! We all got basic training, we survived it, we learned, we all enlisted with a purpose. Once in the military you are a unit, sexuality is irrelevant. Have you had any problems in this area? I know two or three people who got kicked out
for being gay but I personally never experienced any problems. I never tried to hide who I am. Looking the way I look I worried that it may become a problem but in my experience no one has cared one way or another. I go out of my way to respect my uniform and be professional. When I’m at work I am very focused, I have a job to do, I want to get it done well, I want to feel proud of my career in the military. So I just went on doing what I had to do and even high ranking officials never gave me grief for being who I am. Can you understand the hesitation some people may have regarding gays in the military? Sure. The first step in trying to solve a problem is to step into some else’s point of view and figure out how they see the problem. I think there are some basic things that are reasonable…there is very little privacy in the service. We eat, sleep, shower and work with each other. I can see why someone would not be comfortable showering with someone if they thought they were getting checked out, but I don’t believe that these kinds of concerns are enough to prohibit an entire block of the population from serving their country! And you know what? It makes ME uncomfortable to know that they may think this about me. It makes me so aware of my boundaries; I feel that I must be extra respectful of everyone’s privacy. It seems that a simple shower curtain would take care of the problem!

some else’s point of view and figure out how they see the problem.”
but more so when you are wearing 50 pounds of gear. In the kitchen the heat was nearly 150 degrees! We slept in cots, we showered with the help of bottled water and you don’t want to hear about the bathrooms!

Exactly! This is what I’m saying! I know I can do my job and do it well. It is other people’s fears and insecurities that make it hard for me to do so—that, I don’t think is fair. So some people feel uneasy. You wanna talk about uncomfortable? Take a walk in 120 degree heat with your life at stake! What do you think about the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy? I voted for it. I wanted it because I thought it was the best that Clinton could do at that time. We were actually encouraged to vote for it and I think it served its purpose in many situations; it wasn’t perfect because ideally sexuality should not be an issue at all, but it was a step in the right direction. What are your plans for the future? I will be out of the Army in January 2011. I have also been modeling and I will probably continue to do that. It’s a lot of fun, it allows me to explore my artistic side and I enjoy it very much. Who are you working with in the modeling world? I’m with Ann Marc Agency and I’ve been modeling for Vicarious Vintage, Kazu Couture and Lair de Lizcious. Are you staying in Hawaii then? Absolutely! As soon as I landed here a year and a half ago I knew I was home. Hawaii has everything I need. I love the weather, the people, the views, the clubs…and I must live near water! What is the message you would like others to get from you and your experience? I have been true to myself and to my country. I have done my job without losing track of who I am as a person. I’m a proud Sergeant of the Army, but I am also Meme and I’m proud of that too! eXpression! October 2010
As Sergeant Meme slipped into the red leather interior of her slick ride I had to smile…her license plate made me wonder whether it described the car or the driver. Beep if you spot SPRBST (Super Beast) on the road to success.

well with delicately textured and flavored foods. Sauvignon Blanc also pairs nicely with light salads, shellfish and especially goat cheese. Its acidic synergy helps to cut through the pungency of the cheese, both tempering and enhancing the flavors of each.
People sometimes ask, “Why does food taste better with wine?” It’s generally because wine is acidic, and acidity is a turbocharger for flavors. One of the main reasons why ketchup makes our french fries taste better is because it’s made with vinegar. Vinegar perks up flavors because of its high acidity.
Written by: Liane Fu Sommelier & President of The Wine Stop
It’s not uncommon for people in Europe to drink wine with their meals. Wine makes food taste better, in part, because it is acidic. Finding the right wine to pair with your food is a tasty and fun experience. For example, oysters on the half shell pairs nicely with a Muscadet or a Sancerre (a Sauvignon Blanc) from France. Both these wines have a racy acidity. Lively acidity goes
In general, wines from Europe are made to pair with food. European wines generally have more acidity than wines from the “New World” or “Not Europe”. Wines from the New World sometimes are made to pair with food. If you would like some help finding a wine to pair with your next meal, ask a sommelier (a wine steward). There are three sommeliers at The Wine Stop. You are sure to bump into at least one when you stop by.

If you followed season 8 of Project Runway, you know that the talented Andy South fabulously represented Hawaii. One of the youngest contestants on the show, Andy’s humble eloquence and beautiful work took him all the way to Fashion Week in New York City. On the evening the grand finale was aired, thousands of fans around the country watched anxiously to see if he would win the coveted first place. We were lucky enough to watch it with Andy.
His is a unique style that gathers the power and the sensuality of the female body like we haven’t seen before. His fearless approach to stunning fabrics and perfectly executed patterns makes his collection one that every woman wants in her closet. Andy South was not born with a foot in the world of fashion, he was raised by a single immigrant mother who worked hard to keep her family fed, healthy and together. That in itself is amazing work, but his mother did more than provide the essentials, she nurtured her children’s natural curiosity and supported

them in unleashing their creativity. This was a chance her youngest took to heart. After graduating from Waianae High School Andy went on to graduate from HCC (Honolulu Community College) and became an assistant for a local designer. Project Runway was just around the corner. Andy’s soft-spoken personality soon won over audiences and one beautiful design after another won the judges’ votes. In the end, all his hard work led to a gathering of a very diverse and enthusiastic group of fans to happily cheer him up as we waited for the final show to air. There was only mild disappointment when the winner

If you can’t wait to claim your own Andy South design, join the club! Luckily, we won’t have to wait very long; he is working on a secondary line called SOUTH by Andy South in hope to launch early 2011. South told us “the reason for launching this more affordable line first is because I want to make my clothing available to the fans who have supported me all along. There is a need and a want for Andy South by consumers and this way I can make Andy South attainable at mid-range price points.”

BOOK eXpression808.com
24
“In this moving, informative, often hilarious memoir, you’ll learn the emotions of serving our country in uniform during times of peace, and times of war while hiding from a greater enemy—intolerance. Today, as an ex-Navy man, I stand up for the rights of all gay men and lesbians in the United States military.” —William Bonzo
William Bonzo’s biting, informative, and sometimes riotous memoir, Don’t Ask, Do Tell: When I Finally Told the Military “Kiss My Gay...” aims directly at the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy presently enforced by the United States military. The book stands as an edgy and brutally honest assessment of the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell position set forth by the US military. The policy was established to allow gay men and lesbians to remain in uniform...as long as their sexual orientation remained a secret...but has served as a platform for forced deception and occasional blackmail. Bonzo was a Navy man before being ‘outed’ and forced to leave the service. Until then, he had served his country honorably and enthusiastically. From a guided missile cruiser in the North Atlantic to life lived among nerve gas, enemies, and the struggle to survive, nothing seems as daunting as the courage Bonzo mustered to maintain his dignity and military pride through a terrible ordeal. So how can a military that is dangerously short of personnel and engaged in several wars around the world afford to impose a weeding-out policy that not only de-militarizes talented leaders, but does so in an abrupt and emotionally brutal fashion? Reading this book, one is struck by the irony of training a man for years, bringing him to his peak of military knowledge and direction, and then dismissing him for his sexual orientation. Despite a light and often-funny voice, the underlying message remains: Every man and woman deserves to serve; that this country cannot afford to force patriotic and talented individuals from their ranks due to sexual orientation; and that, despite political wrangling and election-year promises, this issue goes beyond gender: it is about human dignity. Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell is unethical, pragmatically absurd, and often devastating to those who are targeted.
eXpression! December 2010
Bonzo stated, “I wrote Don’t Ask, Do Tell: When I Finally Told the Military “Kiss My Gay...” after I was outed as a gay man and discharged from the Navy. Had I served my country honorably and patriotically? Absolutely. Is our military in need of talented and well-trained men and women to lead the troops during wartime? Without question. And yet this policy of Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell systematically forces men and women to either lie about their identities...or be forced out of the service.”

POLTICS In the past few years Hawaii has struggled with many issues that affect our community at large and it is with great relief that we see someone with a truly intelligent plan of action take the lead of our State. Abercrombie’s views may seem a bit too liberal to some, but his enthusiastic approach to the future has residents looking forward to better years to come. His promise to “put people back to work” as soon as possible is just one of many items in his agenda. As far as the LGBT community is concerned, he plans to implement a bill similar to the one vetoed by Lingle just months ago. Equality can’t come soon enough to those of us who have worked so hard to maintain our faith in the State we love.
Whether we were born and raised here or have adopted the islands later in life, most of us have loved and respected the land and its people long enough to earn a kama’aina stamp. Abercrombie’s victory validates the faith we have had in a culture that has been traditionally embracing of all peoples. As I patiently wait for Abercrombie’s plans to come into effect, I can’t help but feel pride for the people who have made this election a victorious one. To all of you who had the courage to dream, the imagination to envision a better future, the faith in our democratic system, and the determination to make it happen, mahalo! eXpression! December 2010
