4 Amazing Tips to Increase Traffic to Your Website Do you have a blog or website? Thesedays, that question is right up there with, “Do you know how to tie your shoes?” with the response being an emphatic, “Um, yeah!” More and more people are taking advantage of the Internet as a means of self-expression, staying connected, and making money. The Internet is a virtual treasure trove of money-making opportunities, and one of the best methods is to set up and maintain a blog or website. Now, creating a website is one thing, but driving traffic to it is a horse of an entirely different color. If you are serious about either building your brand or making some online money, then you need to be brining as much targeted traffic to your site as you can. If this sounds like something that you would interested in, then stay tuned, becausein this article, you will learn several super effective techniques to increasetraffic to your website or blog. Keyword Research Doing your keyword homework is an absolute must if you want to seean increase in the number of people who frequent your site. Keyword research is a little bit time consuming, but it is well worth the effort; plus, you can use the free Google keyword tool, which is relatively straightforward. All you have to do is sum up your targeted niche in 1-4 words (for example, “make money online”), then plug that word or phrase into the keyword search box and click search. Presto! You instantly have accessto a stellar list of niche-specific keywords. I would recommend running “exact” searchesas opposed to “broad” ones (see the left hand column), and when selecting your keywords from the generated list, be sure to analyze the amount of competition that each word has as well as the number of global monthly searches. You want the competition to be low and the searches to be high. Lists Everyone loves an online list (not a to-do list, of course). This might sound a little odd, but including a niche-specific, top-10 list is a great way to increase traffic and promote user involvement. The reason for this is becausethere are hordes of opinionated people out there, who are just itching to add their two cents about what should and should not be included on your list. Lists are also likely to get passed on via social media, such as Twitter and Digg, thus further spreading the word about your amazing website. Blog Comments One of the best ways to get people buzzing about your website is to do a little buzzing about theirs, and what I mean by this is go out and find other well-crafted blogs in your niche and submit meaningful comments about relevant posts. In doing this, you will be permitted to submit a link to your blog along with your comment, which will then be posted on the site, thus creating a platform for you to garner additional traffic. Think of it as sort of like virtual sucking up, or perhaps, you scratching other people’s backs, so they will in turn scratch yours.

Social Networks

A fantastic way to increasetraffic to your site is to promote the heck out of it (no spamming, please) on the various social networks, most notably Twitter and Facebook. If you haven’t done so already, I implore you to create both a Twitter account and a Facebook Fan Pageas fast as your fingers can type. Facebook has over 500 million users, and if you create a presence there, then you will have the potential to enormously magnify your website’s reach.
