Visit the award-winning Cwmcerrig Farmshop and Grill Our Texel lamb and Hereford beef are reared here at Cwmcerrig to high standards of animal welfare. Our welcoming grill restaurant offers a wide selection of meals and attracts customers from far and wide. Our deli counter is bursting with a fantastic selection of delicious items.
The award-winning Cwmcerrig Farmshop is the No 1 choice for the finest local produce in West Wales.
We are the Watkins family (Roland, Reuben, Stuart, Tom and Davina) and we’ve been farming here since the 1950s. In 2008, we decided to make the big leap and open up a shop here at Cwmcerrig. We don’t like to do things by halves so we built a whopping 8000 sq ft facility with a restaurant, too! The shop opened in 2009 and we’ve not looked back. Since opening, we’ve won many awards, including several national farm shop of the year competitions. In the Taste of Wales awards, the shop won the’ local sourcing’ section and the firm’s sirloin steak took Gold in the beef section. Other recent prizes include two National Trust Fine Farm Produce Awards. We’re proud of the meat we produce here at Cwmcerrig and are delighted to now be selling it direct to our customers in our shop.
We have –
Delicious home-made pies, quiches, scotch eggs, traditional homemade Welsh favourites such as rissoles and faggots, a fantastic range of cheese, including some cracking local ones, cooked meats (we cook the ham, pork, beef and turkey here at Cwmcerrig) and paté, home-made coleslaw, potato salad and stuffing, olives and other antipasti, homemade cottage pie, chicken korma and chicken tikka masala. In short, there’s something for everyone at Cwmcerrig, with the accent firmly on fresh and local.
We hope you enjoy visiting Cwmcerrig as much as we enjoy working here!

Town Guide Haverfordwest Town History
In the seventeenth century, just at the beginning of the English Civil War, Oliver Cromwell ordered for the castles destruction. The castle was left to decay and is now the location of Haverfordwest Town Museum. The Riverside Quay played an important part in the towns trade, receiving goods from France and England.
The Welsh name for Haverfordwest, Hwlffordd seems most likely to be a Welsh translation of Haverfordwest. Haverfordwest derives its name from the old English meaning ‘Ford used by cows/goats’. The ‘west’ part of Haverfordwest is thought to have been added at a later date.
The strong Flemmish community in Haverfordwest in the mid fourteenth century broadened the towns products and trades. Haverfordwest thrived as a trading town as it was one of the few towns to have the right to hold frequent fairs and markets.
Situated on the western Cleddau, Haverfordwest Castle was built in the twelfth century by a Flemish Lord. The castle was one of the most important castles in south Wales in the medieval period.
Today, Haverfordwest has kept much of its medieval charm and the Riverside Quay still holds weekly farmers markets selling local food produce and crafts.
Haverfordwest Castle was known to be a strong stone castle as it withheld attacks from Llwelyn the Great, Owain Glyndwr and Oliver Cromwell. After Llwelyn’s attack, the castle fell into the hands of King Edward 1st and his wife Queen Eleanor in 1289 who added to the castle, constructing walls in its interior.

Easter Top Tips for baking the perfect cupcake!
Easter Nest Cupcakes Making cupcakes is simple. Making Easter themed cupcakes is even easier, and is fun for the kids! Ingredients for the cupcakes: 220g butter or margarine, room temperature 220g caster sugar 2 large eggs, beaten 220g self-raising flour, sifted 1 tsp of Vanilla Essence
Cheap to make and easy to bake, cupcakes are the perfect treat all through the year. Recently, cupcakes have become the most popular trend with a great selection of recipe books and online sites dedicated to the cupcake. There are now numerous amounts of blogs advising you on the best techniques and ones that offer you expert tips on fl avouring and design.
Ingredients for the icing: For the Butter Cream: 80g unsalted butter, room temperature 250g icing sugar 25g low fat vanilla yogurt Mini eggs to decorate Method: Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 5. Line a cup cake or muffin tray with paper cases. Beat together the butter and caster sugar until light and fluff y. Add the eggs a little at a time. Fold in the flour and Vanilla Essence. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until half full. Bake in the oven until golden brown and springy to touch or test using a skewer, if it comes away clean the cakes are ready. Leave them to cool on a wire rack.
Cupcake design has become a huge trend in itself, with more and more extravagant designs coming through, ranging from the cute and simple floral design to the more complicated animal shaped cupcake.
Meanwhile prepare the butter cream. Begin by beating the butter and icing sugar until pale and well mixed, ideally using an electric mixer. Add the yogurt and continue to beat on medium to high speed until the icing is fluff y. The longer you beat the lighter the icing.
The increasing popularity of cupcakes means that making them is no longer a specialist area. Anyone can make cupcakes and there are plenty of resources now available to buy in most supermarkets. A great range of products are available including pretty paper cases, ready made wafer flowers, chocolate shapes and shimmer sprays galore to decorate your cupcake and make it look like a professional job.
Spoon the icing into a piping bag fi tted with a star piping nozzle. In a circular motion, swirl the icing around each cake. Decorate with mini eggs.

garden furniture to update it a bit? Garden patio furniture comes in many shapes and sizes, ranging from the humble picnic table to the more luxurious lounging outdoor sofa set. Patio areas can be turned into warm and beautiful outdoor spaces with patio heaters and fire pits. Patio heaters are easy to add to your patio and affordable, but fire pits are more easy on the eye and make for a nice design feature.
For a more English country themed garden choose some roses and herbs to match. Head down to your local garden centre and pick up some brand new gardening tools. A new set of gardening equipment not only help you with your gardening, but it will also inspire you to get those green fingers working. Over the winter, it is easy to neglect your lawn and let it grow out. Springtime is a good time to begin mowing your lawn to restore its appearance. Applying a lawn fertiliser can help improve the overall condition of your lawn and also its lushness. If you have a patio area, why not buy some new

Motoring Simple Steps to Buying a Car How much is the insurance going to cost you? How much is the cars road tax? Taking into consideration the cars monthly costs will help you get a rounded idea of its overall cost. Take a look at finance options to gain that the dealer provides to see if they can offer you anything better. Usually dealer finance includes extras like free courtesy cars and free road tax for a year, so it’s well worth looking into.
Buying a car is an exciting prospect for many buyers, especially for first time buyers. Here are a few helpful tips to consider when buying a car. Draw up a shortlist of potential makes and models. This will help you determine what kind of car you are looking for. Make a note of whether you are looking for a small, medium or large car and whether there are any makes you are more interested in.
Next, negotiate with your dealer. Show the dealer you are interested in the car. See how far they are willing to drop the initial price of the car and what extras they are willing to include.
Visit your local car showrooms and garages to see what they have to offer. This can give you a good idea of prices. It also allows you to have a good look at the cars and decide whether you like the overall appearance of them.
When you have a good idea of what you are looking for and what car fi ts your needs and budget, buying the car will be the easiest bit.
Now for the fun part, take them out for a test drive. Ask to take them for a spin around the area to see how they are to drive. Take notice of what the gears feel like and how long they take to reach the speed limit. Ask yourself how it feels to drive them. Do you enjoy driving it, or do you find it difficult to handle? What condition is the car interior? Asking yourself these questions is bound to determine which car is your favourite. Once you’ve decided which car is your favourite, check the running costs.

Bygone
Evolution
Genuine Bygone sash windows are designed and manufactured to the highest standards and specification, yet their first requirement is to blend into their surroundings.
The Storm window and Door range offer all the aesthetics of timber, a window designed to replicate period features, that are normally only found with traditional joinery.
Timber Windows Whether you are upgrading your original frames or restoring your home to its former glory, make no compromises with a superior range of traditional windows and doors.
Authentic Styles Spanning 300 Years of Sash Windows Whether your requirements are timber windows or PVCu, The Cambria Sash Window Company has exclusive, unique period & contemporary, double glazed ranges to meet the most discerning eye, designed up to a specification – not down to a price!
