Rainy Days out in Pembrokeshire is complete, The Creative Café has a glaze fire which gives your ceramic that professional glazed finish. HEATHERTON WORLD OF ACTIVITIES Heatherton is an indoor and outdoor activity theme park which has many facilities suitable for all ages. The park is divided up into different activity zones including a family fun zone, an adrenaline zone, a play zone and the golf and bowls zone. The indoor activities include Indiana’s a soft play area, undercover archery, an undercover driving range, undercover air pistols and an arcade. SCOLTON MANOR MUSEUM AND COUNTRY PARK Step back in time and visit Scolton Manor which is a 5 mile drive out of Haverfordwest. Entry is just £2 per person and there is plenty of things to do and see. The manor house itself is full of exhibitions displaying Pembrokeshire’s natural history and Pembrokeshire’s Railway and has an old agricultural and rural machinery collection. Scolton Manor also has a visitor centre which focuses on the environment and the wildlife that can be found within the grounds of the Country Park. PHOENIX BOWL AND PIRATE PETE’S ADVENTURE PLAY Set in Milford Haven’s dock area, Phoenix Bowl and Pirate Pete’s Adventure Play combines a tenpin bowling alley and a kids soft play area, all under one roof! Phoenix Bowl has ten lanes and is open from 10am to 11pm and has bumpers which can be raised to help you score the perfect strike. Pirate Pete’s is open from 10am to 7pm and is only £3.50 for an all day pass so you can sit back and relax with some food and drink while the kids burn off some of their energy.
There’s nothing worse than opening your curtains on the morning you’ve decided to spend the day outside, only to find that the heavens have opened and it’s pouring with rain. Your big plans for a day out are ruined, and now you’re faced with a long, wet day of traipsing round in the rain, soaked to the bone or worse, stuck inside the house, staring out the window dreaming of the day that could have been. For luckily enough Pembrokeshire has many different attractions perfect for those rainy days out: THE BLUE LAGOON Set in the National Park Resort Blue Stone, the Blue Lagoon is an indoor water park which features an indoor wave machine, a rapids river ride and two enclosed flume rides which take you round the outside of the building back into the main swimming pool. There is also a lazy river and indoor and outdoor spa pools perfect for you to relax in after the thrill of the water slides. The Blue Lagoon is the perfect place to go on a rainy day and is open till 7pm throughout the week and 9pm on a Friday so you can visit later on in the day. THE CREATIVE CAFÉ Based in Narberth, Haverfordwest and St Davids, The Creative Café is where you can enjoy delicious homemade food and snacks while decorating your own ceramics. Haverfordwest Farmers’ Market Harvest Fayre Join in the celebrations at our annual Harvest Fayre at Riverside Shopping, Haverfordwest on Friday 27 September.

Our award-winning market is held against the backdrop of the River Cleddau, providing the perfect setting for our market stall holders to offer their customers a delicious range of home-grown, homeproduced and freshly picked seasonal produce as they shop in a vibrant, friendly atmosphere.
You can choose from award-winning cheeses, freshly caught fish and shellfish, home-made pasties and freshly baked breads, pastries and buns, to local seasonal vegetables and organic crops, free-range eggs and an array of savoury vegetarian and vegan choices.
A multitude of approximately 25 stallholders, from within a 50-mile radius of Haverfordwest, will be attending our annual Harvest Fayre this year, and joining in with a wealth of activities and events to celebrate the event.
If you have a sweet tooth there will be a choice of jams, marmalades and local honey and fruit, plus mustards and pickles. For those of us with green fingers, you will also have the choice of a wide range of plants, shrubs and herbs.
There will be cookery demonstrations from the Love Food, Hate Waste Roadshow team, showing how to put together tasty dishes and share practical advice on how to plan meals, work out portion sizes, understand date labels and store food correctly to make it last longer.
There are also choices of diabetic and gluten-free foods and don’t forget to look out for new products and special offers on our stalls.
PCC Food Development Manager, Kate Morgan, and her food team will also be cooking up a menu of delicious low-carbon recipe ideas using farmers’ market produce and handing out tasters to customers.

David Baster from Little Rhyndaston Nurseries will be on hand to give out gardening hints and tips, advice on planting and all things horticultural. Gethin Jones from Gethin’s Cyder will be bringing his cider press along to the market to show us all how to press fruit, which goes towards making his wonderful range of award-winning ciders and perrys.

to Youth Generation Pembrokeshire’s Charity Event Youth Generation Pembrokeshire will begin its fundraising in early September when the non-profit organization launches its first event – a LIVE Acoustic night. The organization aims to help young people with learning new skills, training, support, advice and development of social skills and experience.

“Communities seem very in touch with each other in the USA and I couldn’t help but feel I had to do something to get that atmosphere back home,” said the 23-year-old.

CHECK YOUR HEATING Speaking from experience now is generally a good time to check that your heating system is all in working order before the first frost is due and the cold starts to set in. Take a look at your boiler and check that if it has a blue flame, it is still blue and burning strongly. If it’s orange and flickering then contact your gas company.
TIDY UP THE GARDEN Before the autumnal gales and rains set in, prepare your garden for winter to keep it looking tidy and easy to manage. Dead head and prune your plants and plant some bulbs like daffodils and tulips ready for the spring. Water proof your garden furniture with sealant or move them to a more sheltered place to avoid damage.
If you’ve ever thought of getting insulation then now is the perfect time to invest. There are many different methods of insulation out there so contact your local supplier to find out more. You probably haven’t used your radiators much over the summer so take time to check them for rust and any other damage. Due to inactivity, they be a little blocked so set aside a day to let them bleed.
