Behind The Art: Aaron Jasinski A Tale of Last Chances “I wanted to convey my perspective about being under the influence, which is basically that you are wasting your life. Literally. A cautionary piece about the pitfalls in life that can leave you missing out on a lot. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve done.... so far.” * Now available as a Limited Edition print from Eyes On Walls.

Panda Dreams by Lora Zombie
Lora Zombie NYC Art Exhibit ‘Blue Bird Lobotomy’ For one night only, Lora Zombie presented her newest collection of work to a packed house in the SoHo arts neighborhood of New York City. Since making a name for herself with her trademark “grunge art” painting style, Lora Zombie has exhibited in Los Angeles, Toronto, New York and Russia - bringing in the interest of notable collectors and fans worldwide. Her work is already unmistakable in the urban art scene and ‘Blue Bird Lobotomy’ was proof that the best is yet to come for this talented artist. In 2012, her work had only been shown in New York as part of Crazy 4 Cult, a group show curated by Gallery 1988, and her east coast fans were braced for a solo exhibition. In true Eyes On Walls fashion, the opening was planned as a one night exclusive event in the heart of the NYC art scene - historic SoHo. The night was threatened by Hurricane Sandy sweeping
through the week before, knocking out power in Lower Manhattan and flooding many galleries in the area. Despite the inclement weather, fans came out in the hundreds, lining up hours before the show for a chance to receive an Eyes On Walls gift bag with exclusive Lora Zombie releases. Lora Zombie’s fan base is a cross section of art lovers from all walks of life. From celebrities to seasoned collectors, fellow artists to school-aged kids who are familiar with her work from websites such as deviantART.com. Blue Bird Lobotomy consisted of a body of work made in the months leading up to the show. Imagery of superheroes in top hats, dapper dogs, fairytale scenes and lots of dripping colors were the focus of many 27
pieces and came together to present her versatile talents in a melting pot of pop references and cheeky commentary. Billy, the lead of the Russian band Billy’s Band and also the artist’s husband, provided a live jazz backdrop for the show. His presence provided a rare glimpse into the artist’s personal life bursting with music and art as Lora cites him as the muse for much of her work. The night also marked the release of Lora’s latest book
release, “Art Book #1”, a re-creation of an entire collection of work that was done in a single Moleskine notebook between 2010 and 2011. The volume contains many of her most popular pieces and is available in an edition of only 600 books. This year is sure to bring great success for this young and talented painter.
