EYP FINLAND HELSINKI REGIONAL SESSION
20th ANNIVERSARY: for the Past & the Future By: Lorea del Río (FI) ___ Aina (ES) AGRI, Delegate
My message to the Past Thank you for having given so many people the opportunity to participate in this amazing experience and helping make it progress into what it is now and the way we can all enjoy it regardless of our role in each session. Thanks to what has been done until now, the voices of young people are now not only heard but also listened to, which is an amazing success.
My message to the Future I hope we can all keep improving and making EYP even better for future people to join and experience for themselves how amazing it can be. I'm sure that it will be as incredible as it is now or even better.

20th ANNIVERSARY: for the Past & the Future By: Lorea del Río (FI) ___ Julia (FI) EMPL II, Delegate
My message to the Past Thank you for creating such an amazing educational center where people from different cultures can gather to better themselves, influence other people, participate in international (political, economic, environmental and societal) affairs and gain confidence (which I believe I have already gained even though this is my first ever session).
My message to the Future Well I will definitely be a part of the future because I've already enjoyed the session very much and I will continue to take part in EYP's future events. I would like to remind the future to take every single chance they get and keep bettering themselves.

My message to the Future I want to try out some new things: take the next step in the academic roles of EYP and maybe try out other official's roles as well!

EYP FINLAND HELSINKI REGIONAL SESSION
Q&A: answered by EYP veterans ●
What is your favorite part of participating in EYP sessions? My favourite part of participating in EYP sessions is getting to know many people, compared to many youth organisations EYP puts a lot more emphasis on teambuilding to create friendships and networks!
●
How are you ? What do you feel about all these ? I’m good thanks! I’m super happy to see people enjoying the session and seeing the best sides of EYP.
●
What is it like being an organiser? Being an organiser is so much fun! It’s a lot of responsibility and action. Organising has multiple sides to it and everyone can find tasks they like. It’s answering questions, making sure everyone is aware of what’s going on and taking care of the participants’ welfare.
●
How do you get assigned to a national committee? You can join your own national committee by finding information from their website or by contacting their Human Resources officer, whose contact information you should be able to find on the Members Platform.
●
How do you become a member? You can become a member of EYP Finland by filling out this form from our website: https://eypfinland.org/en/get-involved/
23
●
Can you be a member of EYP from another state than your own? Yes, yes you can! However we encourage you to first contact your own national committee to check if you can join your own one.
●
Is there a source with simple and clear instructions on how to do the actual work EYP delegates do? (Reso forms etc.) Learning the skills you need in EYP happens by participating in our events actively. The best advice I can give you on this is joining our sessions, trainings and other events and before you even notice, you’re a pro!
●
How has EYP influenced your career path? After many years, how have you implemented what you had learned at EYP into your daily life? EYP has definitely helped me with finding my own interests. I have been able to research and get to know topics I wouldn’t have even thought of on my own. Discussions with my peers have helped me understand what truly interests me and what I could do about the things I’m passionate about. I’ve learned how to schedule my work, keep myself organised, work efficiently in a group, and I believe all of these have been crucial parts to shaping me into who I am today & how I do my work and studies!
●
hahaha. Hi EYP veterans. Nice to meet you. First time EYPer here! I don't have a question just wanted to say thank you for always trying to make that conference better! Heya! I’m glad you left me a message and that you joined EYP! I hope to meet you at another session some time :)
●
How many EYP sessions have you attended? I’ve personally been to approximately 20 EYP sessions, half of them being physically and the other half digital.
●
What is the one biggest thing you learned from the EYP?
24
If I had to choose my favourite thing I’ve learned from EYP is that there is a lot of understanding in the world and that it is possible for everyone to be and express themselves without judgement. ●
How do you cope with the post EYP depression? Leaving an EYP session is sad and unfortunate, but all good things come to an end. I personally just try to think of the wonderful memories I made and things I learned during the session. Looking at pictures and talking to your EYP friends is a good way to reminisce about what happened. Talking to your friends outside of EYP is also a way to concretize the things you actually learned and what you miss the most in order to be able to acknowledge your feelings better <3
●
What was your most memorable moment in EYP? The first thing that comes to mind is when a former president of Finland was a patron at the session I was an organiser at, and we got to pick her up in a minivan and hang out with her before her speech.
●
What has been your most embarrassing moment in a session? Hmm, I don’t think I’ve been able to make a complete fool out of myself but what comes first to mind is probably me trying to make a speech/organisational announcement and getting so many voice cracks everyone would start laughing.
●
What's the most remarkable (e.g. thrilling debate, excellent resolution etc.) thing you've experienced during your time in EYP? I must say that the first time I chaired was a thrilling experience, and I’ll never forget the pure joy my delegates experienced whenever they finished a task. Also one time when I was a delegate our resolutions votes were 50/50 which was funny and unexpected, since the GA was quite big.
