Message from the president Izmir 2015 will be a gathering of bright minds, fresh talents and new ideas. As the flagship EYP event of the upcoming spring, it will both offer the rich educational and social elements of an International Session, and utilize the unique cultural and historical features of the host city to focus on democracy, civilization and their roots. The committed team of organisers has been working tirelessly on different aspects of the project for the past year and a half; with the rest of the ingredients well in place, we are now ready to select the individuals that will lead the committees, the press team, and the chairs team at the session. As the session president, I set paramount importance on the academic and the personal development aspects of the EYP alike. I envisage a team comprised of individuals who recognize and take pride in the educational value of our work, and are willing to set the bar high for themselves, as well as their delegates. At the same time, I wish to work with a team that is keen on making use of the natural setting EYP provides for personal development. Taking a safe step further into a previously unexplored territory, learning and growing as an individual, and facilitating this process of growth for others is something I have repeatedly experienced in EYP, and especially at International Sessions. This is something I would like all officials to strive for throughout Izmir 2015. If you are interested in chairing at a session where you are encouraged to pursue ambitious goals both individually and as part of a team, and be reflective towards your work as well as your strengths and weaknesses, then Izmir is the perfect place for you to be. As an editor, you will be afforded the opportunity to develop and share your vision on EYP journalism with the rest of our community. In your endeavors to provide a complete first-time experience to a new generation of EYP alumni, you will be welcome in a vibrant environment where you get to team up with and learn from a wide range of personalities and talents. Additionally, you will be offered continuous support, guidance and training to help you realise your personal goals and hone your skills. EYP is visiting Izmir for the first time next April, and it will be exceptional. I would be delighted if you decide to join me as a vice-president, chairperson or editor and play a role in shaping Izmir 2015. With warmest regards, Ogulcan Torun President of the 78th International Session of the European Youth Parliament
