CALL FOR APPLICATIONS SESSION PRESIDENT 75th International Session, Riga 2014

The session The 75th International Session of the EYP will be held in Riga, Latvia between March 14th - 23th 2014. The Session President will be required to arrive a few days in advance and work on many aspects of the session, from teambuilding to topics, to be involved in the selection of the session’s chairs team and to provide leadership for the whole session and its participants. The Session President will also be involved in the development and preparation of the Chairs’ Academic Training together with the Governing Body. Participating in this training is compulsory. The CAT will take place in Berlin on 31st January – 2nd February 2014. For more information on the session, please check their official Facebook page.

Message from the NOC The 75th International Session will be hosted in Riga in 2014 and will coincide with Riga holding the honour of being the European Capital of Culture. Due to this, the session will thematically focus on culture, which will be reflected in the planning of the committee topics and session activities. The National Organising Committee is therefore looking for an alumnus who would be able to inspire the participants academically, as well as socially. We hope for a president who will simultaneously have a good understanding of local heritage and culture. This will be especially important, since such elements as the European Cultural Diary will be introduced during the session, compiling and documenting the cultural exchanges between the participants and the local surroundings. With this in mind, the NOC would prefer to have a session president who is able to understand the importance of the aforementioned aspects and at the same time have a clear vision for maintaining high academic level without losing the personal touch with the delegates. We feel that a heartfelt participation through a personal and honest approach would not only fit best with the organising team, but would also contribute to the general atmosphere we are aiming to create. Overall, we would like to welcome candidates who want to experience an extraordinary International Session with an extraordinary organising team. Good luck to all and we look forward to receiving your applications!
