CALL FOR APPLICATIONS JOURNALISTS, EDITORIAL ASSISTANTS 74th International Session, Tbilisi 2013 The 74th International Session of the EYP will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia from October 4th to 13th, 2013, under the motto “Europe on its frontiers – Deepening cooperation”. The media team will be led by Alexandre Narayanin (France). There will be one editorial assistant for videos and one for support with written media.

We are now looking for 15 journalists and 2 editorial assistants. Members of the Media Team will be required to arrive in Tbilisi one or two days prior to the start of the session in order to prepare for the event. Departures are on Sunday October 13th. More information about the IS in Tbilisi can be found on the session’s website at www.tbilisi2013.org.

Message from the editor “My concept is based on the leadership of a team that would strike with its presence. I aim to release a product of media every single day of the session. May it be a newspaper, a video or another output from the media team, from the arrival of delegates until their farewell, I want to ensure that all participants know about the presence of my team. Ideally the outcome would be 10 media team productions: 5 newspaper issues and 5 videos. I know this might sound rather simple for some, but I see a media team as a session-based group of people, whose primary focus should be the session and all its participants. However, in light of the growing interest within the EYP community regarding the flagship events of the organisation, I am not blind to the online presence my team should also be able to produce. From my personal experience, I believe the future of EYP ultimately lies with its people. Therefore, my second main objective is to offer the possibility to my journalists to grow and mature. Developing an individual and helping him/her shape his /her own opinion is something I value a lot. Consequently, I will emphasise that aspect in my chairing of the media team and stress the learning aspect in Tbilisi 2013. The concept for the session’s output is a participants-focused one. The participants should feel the presence of the media team and this will be reflected in both the journalists’ presence in the committees, as well as in the newspaper issues and videos. Besides offering a written escort of their journey in Tbilisi, participants of the session should also find articles contextualising their experiences into a bigger picture and give food for thought.”
