Message from the National Organising Committee The autumn International Session in 2015 in Leipzig promises to be one of the highlights in the international network of the EYP. The session will also be the culmination of the annual activities of the EYP in Germany. In the 25th year of our existence we aim to celebrate this anniversary with a high-quality, unique and innovative event. Leipzig 2015 promises to reflect the best of a highly-skilled generation of organisers. We aim at bridging the history and the visions for the future of the European Union. This year the federal Republic of Germany is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the German Reunification. With its peaceful demonstrations in 1989, starting in front of the Nikolaikirche and leading to the collapse of the GDR regime, Leipzig holds a special place in these festivities. Thus the combination of the city’s thousand-year anniversary of its first documented mention and the German Reunification anniversary gives Leipzig a prominent role in 2015. We have faith in the president’s abilities to pinpoint the historic importance of the event in Leipzig this year and trust that the president will represent the interests of the organising committee before the external guests adequately.

LEIPZIG 2015 From tearing down walls to setting new stones
We expect our session motto ‘From tearing down walls to setting new stones’ to address not only the historic relevance of the session but also our commitment for the upcoming 25 years in the European Union. Therefore, we have chosen the theme of the ‘Fundamental Rights in Europe’ and aim at highlighting the importance of it in the context of an interconnected European society, interlinked markets and common values. We hope that our President will endorse the academic vision and work towards integrating the session theme outside of the Committee Work as well. We expect our President to be the responsible representative of the session that brings a personal vision to the academic concept and the other approaches we have adopted, such as the idea of the Media Academic Training to be held in parallel to the Chairs’ Academic Training. Besides the criteria outlined in the Call, we hope that our President remains an approachable individual to whom the delegates look up to and who identifies the development potential of the whole officials’ team. Finally, we hope to work in a number of fields and in an environment of mutual trust with our President during the next seven months. On behalf of the National Organising Committee, Alexandre Narayanin
