MEET THE TRAINERS

MARIA MANOLESCU Training Coordinator, Romania

2014 marks Maria's tenth year in EYP and she is happy to still be around and have the opportunity to help people learn. After attending the first T4ET in 2010 as participant, Maria started a ''training-‐ spree'', holding numerous weekend long courses on both a national and international level, from CJO trainings to NC development. She supported presidents and boards to train their teams in several regional, national and international sessions. Now a Senior Trainer in EYP, Maria has also been in charge of trainings for three years on the board of EYP France. Since 2011, she is chairing the Training and Alumni Development Council of EYP, in which capacity she supports organising and trainers' teams. In parallel, Maria is finishing her Advanced Masters in Peace, Justice and Development and is currently working as legal assistant in a Defence team at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

Dorottya Deák

External Trainer, Hungary

Dorottya will be the external trainer joining the team and is very excited to work with EYPers for the first time. Previously, she gained insight into the working of organisations such as UN-‐Students in Norway or AEGEE Budapest. Two years ago, she "jumped on the trainer’s train" with the T4T organised by AEGEE-‐Warszawa and also participated in two three-‐week-‐long training courses on social work in India and meditation practice in Thailand. After holding a number of workshops, last year she headed to Germany as an external trainer for the Young Europeans Seminar of YfU’s T4T for workshop leaders. Since 2012, she has been living in Oslo, where she has been completing her Master’s degree in Comparative and International Education. The decision to attend this particular programme stemmed from the inspiring work of youth organisations and the beautiful experiences and people she has encountered during trainings. Dorottya stands for the ideals of diversity and creativity in the learning process, as she believes these ensure we never stop thinking, rethinking and challenging our perceptions.

CHRISTIAN MACHT Trainer, Germany

Christian, has been active in EYP for over a decade and is a member of the newly elected board of EYP Germany and of the Training and Alumni Development Council. Ever since his first residential training in 2007 in Estonia, Christian has sought every opportunity to multiply what he learnt and has taken part in a number of training events in Poland, the UK and Italy with EYP, as well as with AEGEE, Deutsche Telekom and Mozilla. As a graduated teacher, complementing formal education with passionate contributions to EYP, Christian has an in-‐ depth understanding of educational realities. Having also grown up in EYP, he shares an intuitive understanding of group dynamics and after a marathon of EYP sessions in 2014 is looking forward to be part of an event that brings together some of the most active and experienced people in his favourite NGO.

BOAZ MANGER Trainer, The Netherlands Boaz has been an active member of EYP since 2008. He was a member of the National Board of EYP the Netherlands and has taken several leadership positions at events, from editing and presiding, to being a member of the core team of the Amsterdam IS. Having attended T4ET in 2012, he was among the first participants to join the Pool of Trainers. He has trained in several weekend-‐long training courses in EYP, as well as in the framework of his university. He is a fresh graduate of Policy Science in the Hague, Netherlands, starting to work at the Hague Centre for Strategic Studies. He considers his critical approach to trainings and his desire to improve certain aspects of both EYP and T4ET in general to be his main contribution to the team.
