525 BRANNAN LOBBY
Materiality & Space 2 Surface Design Sophmore
Re-design a small existing entry lobby that is the elevator lobby to a newly proposed 9-unit apartment building. The faceted form of leaves in nature inspired my design. For me, facet has to do with the bending of light and the fragmentation of several planes that act as a cohesive piece.

TWISTING WINE RACK Materiality & Space 3 Installation Design Junior
How to make it: Tools:
Step One
Step One: Sew belts together and leave four slits unsew

in the middle.
1.
My belt installation is to be shaped into a large surface that is soft which can hold wine bottles. I picked cloth belts for my belt installation since cloth is a soft and flexible material. I want to be able to manipulate the direction of twist in a more controlled way.
Step Two: Create twist by looping and puling Step Two: Create twist byslits. looping and pulling thr ough the slits. through
Step Three: Join Units together by backstitch.

Studio Practice 3 Office Design Junior
This project is to re-design the office space of the Sierra Club, an influential grassroots environmental organization. The whole floor is formed with different office typologies, such as, public office, private office, shelter, mini conference room, conference room, lounge, living room, library, storage, small print station, and small coffee station. I seek to bring the natural exterior environment into the interior. The use of many translucent partitions and no partition at all is to create a more open office space that allows people to communicate and exchange ideas.

INFINITE TIMBUK2 Interior Design Advanced Studio Work Place Design Senior
San Francisco is led by dozens of entrepreneurs turning hobbies into companies — the city’s new crop of makers are smaller and more specialized than before, powered by the Internet to produce locally and push their goods abroad. These new companies rely on a “made in San Francisco” brand that has grown more prominent. The objective of this studio is to design Timbuks2, a San Francisco based messenger bags company’s factory and workplace. “Infinite” the idea behind that drives my design not only represent Timbuk2’s energetic culture but also stands for the infinite potential of San Francisco. Timbuk2’s brand identity is inseparable from the city of San Francisco and they have no limits, no restrictions but only infinite possibilities.

TWINKLE STRAW
My design intention is to create a connection between Advanced Interdisciplinary Studio:Surface Effects human movement and light, perceived on translucent surface Surface/ Interaction Design made from plastic drinking straws. The multiplication and Senior interaction of the individual units creates an irregular organic surface. The surface starts to shift as one move closer to it. This interactive surface responds to the presence of people by displaying feedback on the wall as light patterns. People use their bodies as tools to shape the wall, enjoy the experience and communicate. Through such mutual action and response, a completely new creation is born on the wall surface by the audience becoming the master of initiation through the new self expression and stimulating the communication aided and mediated by technology.
