#mother’sday
+ Chattin’ with new mom Emprezz TV personality and fashion designer Emprezz, shares her journey through motherhood and the lessons learned.
Emprezz with her son, Kush Golding
How has motherhood been so far? Motherhood is my most amazing achievement to date. I feel like I am responsible for a life that depends on me to shape, mould, teach, love, provide and nurture. It is a big responsibility, but we have alter egos when daddy is gone to work. We are super mom and super son. So we try to get things done and set routines…without much crying and fussing. He is only 11 weeks. Now that you are a mom, has your weekend routine changed? Weekend? My whole week! Oh yes, weekends are a lot different. I’m a whole new person. No more just popping out for a drink with the folks or going out to eat anywhere we choose. Can’t do the bachelorette lifestyle anymore. But you know what - we go to the beach with grandpa on the boat, we go to visit cousins and grandma and we even went to a party. He is still breast-fed, so we stay close. This is your first Mother’s Day. Do you have anything special planned? I have nothing planned but to hug up my hubby and son! However, I sure hope they have something planned for me (smile).

#mywknd What is your typical weekend?
+ Donalee Curtis
Host of the wkndr tv on ivutv.com
On the weekends when I’m not filming the show, you can usually find me at the beach. The beach is my life! My friends and I love hanging out on the boat and going to Maiden Cay. Every time I miss the beach on the weekends, a little part of me dies. I am also a party animal. I like to call myself the original road monster, so more than likely you’ll find me at least at one party.
Do you have a weekend must see/do/eat?
Other than going to the beach, I must hang with my cronies. I love my friends and since most of them have nine-tofives, the weekends are really our time.
What has been your best weekend ever?
Wow, one of my best weekends ever has to be my birthday weekend last year. My ex-boyfriend took me to Negril. Coincidentally, it was the same weekend that many Jamaicans thought God was coming, so when I wasn’t partying or stuffing my face at Pushcart, I was on the beach with a champagne bottle in hand waiting for the world to end. I would say it was perfect!

Who are your weekends spent with?
My weekends are usually spent with my boos, Julia and Camille and Ann, whenever she’s in town. Sometimes I hang with my boys Akil, Niall and Maurice. I have such sexy friends.
What would be your ideal weekend?
If I answer one more question and include the beach I think no one will read this article. Other than the beach I would love to spend more time with my family. Go to Pusey Hill, Manchester and kick it with my granny. Sista Jennie mi love you bad!
What spot/event/activity would you recommend for any given weekend?
One of my favourite events that take place on the weekends is Kingston Kitchen. Whenever it comes around, I definitely recommend it!
Your weekend drink is…
Rum and ginger beer. Try it, it mad! Simple enough to make at home and yummy enough to get you feeling right. Shhhh! Don’t tell my mom I drink.
DRINK OF CHOICE: Rum and ginger beer

+ Rafting on the Rio Grande
G
athering 20 people together at the same time can sometimes be a little bit of a challenge, but we were able to coordinate a group to head out rafting in Portie. We called ahead to make a reservation, since our group was so big and organised lunch and drinks to take with us. When we headed out, we were 20 strong, iPods fully loaded and six coolers in tow. The party began not too long after the bus started on its journey, complete with a barto-go, sing-alongs and even some dance move demonstrations. About two hours later, we were at the Rio Grande and moving the party from the bus to our respective rafts. I am not sure if we were more entertained by our captains or if they were more entertained by us.

It was really a great day with our 10 rafts moving slowly down the river, allowing us time to jump in and take a dip, learn some rafting skills from the captains, stop for lunch halfway and just take in the surroundings. The trip was a change from the normal weekend flex and an amazing way to take in the sun setting on the horizon. Definitely a fun and memorable experience.
