+
Warren McDonald If you only had one free weekend, what would you do? I would spend it either on the west end of Negril or at the Blue Hole in Portland. Your weekend drink is... A classic mojito.

What has been your best weekend ever? SPF Weekend 2011, because it turned out to be a great, fun-filled weekend, one that was totally unexpected. A group of friends coming together to host a weekend for mature-minded adults with premium brand partners using landmark destinations in St Ann: the vibe started with BNM Eye Candy; Fiction Beach took it up several notches and the weekend climaxed with Soiree SPF. The feedback that we got from the inaugural SPF Weekend was truly amazing and we can’t wait for the independence weekend to come.
What would be your ideal weekend? My ideal weekend would be with my family, my wife Kay, son Matthew and baby girl Jazzmine, somewhere by a beach – preferably Silver Sands, where my family beach house is. Camera in hand :)
Your weekend drink is... Vodka and cranberry with a splash of Ting
Your weekend drink is... Appleton Special and Pepsi or a nice Cabernet Sauvignon

+ Breezes Grand Resort & Spa – Negril
A
rriving early for check in at a hotel could be a bother, but the people at Breezes Negril made it the perfect start to my weekend. Being ushered into the lunchroom sans baggage, before making a single payment, showed that at this establishment, the guests definitely come first. I was looking for a weekend full of activities and entertainment, and that is what I got while celebrating my mother’s birthday there. In addition to the pristine beach, clean pools and free painting lessons, the staff was a composition of extra sweet and accommodating people who always remembered our names and the fact that it was my mother’s special day. The cake they baked for her at a moment’s notice was literally the icing on the top of an amazing three days. But the highlight for hungry bellies like me would definitely be the food, which was a surprising break from the usual mass-produced north coast hotel staples. The in-house French restaurant, Pierce, created a memorable a la carte experience that blended well with the tropical feel of the resort. While rest and relaxation was definitely on my mother’s mind, my busy body had to find and take advantage of all the water sports, including the glass bottom boat rides, water skiing and wind surfing from dawn till dusk. All in all, a Breezes Negril weekend is one way I would definitely like to spend my time again in the nottoo-distant future.
