What do you like to do on your weekends?

What has been your best weekend ever?

On my weekend I love time with my family and friends, where ever, whenever as long as it’s with family and friends; its a guaranteed good time.

My birthday weekend last summer, as I was given the opportunity to perform at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay with Ikaya. The experience was amazingly thrilling and hopefully I get another opportunity to do what I love the most...dancing!

Where is your favourite weekend spot?

What would be your ideal weekend? A typical weekend for me, involves having a lovely nap with no interruptions, hanging out with my good friends, going out for a quick lunch or a movie, playing a good game of kalooki and deuces and watching reality shows and music videos on TV.

My ideal weekend would be one that included a stay at Sunset Jamaica Grande. This would include sun tanning on the white, sandy beach while lying down on a beach chair with my shades on. In my hand, I would have a long, cold glass of Strawberry Daiquiri topped with strawberries and pineapples on the rim.

Lauren McClure 22 Miss Bucmars Inc Ltd. What would be your ideal weekend? My ideal weekend would be spent exploring some of Jamaica’s spectacular sites and hidden gems with my loved ones. It would start off with Strawberry Hill’s amazing mountainside scenery, and then continue to Frenchman’s Cove in Port Antonio and I would end the weekend relaxing in the sun at Maiden Cay.

Brand Manager, Red Stripe Beers

Mitchell and friends

What is your typical weekend? Unwinding and relaxing. That includes anything from laid-back drinks with friends, going out to a party, to chilling on the beach. Let’s not forget a bit of pampering - a mani/pedi is always nice.

What’s your weekend must do? I like to go with the flow and do whatever pops up. Each weekend is different. As long as it includes my friends, then it’s all good.

What would be your ideal weekend? A country trip! Leave work early on Friday, wake up at the beach on Saturday... perfect!

What event/activity/spot would you recommend on any given weekend? Fort Clarence - quick trip to the beach, fried fish and festival and cold Red Stripe Light.

The best place to enjoy a Red Stripe is... Anywhere that serves it well cold.

What has been your best weekend ever? Carnival weekend this year was actually fun. I was a sworn anti-soca person, but I have since revised this stance. Now that this is in print I will never live it down.

+ Relax. Reconnect. Refresh

When thinking about the weekend, what comes to mind? Here at the wkndr, we believe weekends are about relaxing, reconnecting and refreshing! Here are a few tips to help you de-stress and take back your weekend.

Relax: At the end of a crazy workweek, everyone wants to unwind. Schedule ‘you time’: It is important that you commit to having some time alone. Move: Join an evening yoga class

or turn on some music and dance around your house. Men, this applies to you too. Don’t be shy, turn on your favourite music and go nuts!

Soothe your body: If you can, take a long, warm bath or shower. The warm water will soothe and relax your muscles.

Reconnect: Many people have workweeks that don’t allow for much socialising. When the weekend comes around, it’s the perfect time to reconnect with loved ones. Go low tech: Turn off the television or computer and put your cell phone on silent. Fewer distractions mean more face time.

Family dinner: Invite close friends

and family over for a potluck dinner. This is an easy way to reconnect with loved ones without breaking the bank and being the only one in the kitchen.

Group date: No, we don’t mean the

club or a loud bar. Take a group of friends and go to a play, a concert or a game.

Refresh: Many of us dread the week ahead, but if we can prepare ourselves and get our minds in a good space, imagine how much more productive we will be. Clear your mind: Have a long conversation with your partner or a close friend about whatever is on your mind (relationship, work or family issues). If you don’t have someone to talk to, journalling is another great way to clear your mind. Organise yourself: Before the weekend is over, sit down and list your errands, commitments and schedule your week. If you have a plan, Mondays won’t seem so chaotic.

Get some rest: Sleep has been proven to

refresh and repair minor ailments in your body, both physically and mentally. If you’re constantly feeling tired, why aren’t you getting enough sleep?
