What do you like to do with your weekends? I like to get home early on a Friday evening to spend time with my wife, Audi and daughter, Xavi. This usually involves getting takeout and trying to catch a movie while hanging out and playing with the baby. Sometimes, I might linkup with my friends on a Friday night. Saturday mornings are reserved for watching football during the season. The afternoons might require me to go shopping with Audi and Xavi for kid-related stuff. Saturday evenings I might go for a run at Emancipation Park or catch a movie with Audi if a sitter is available. Sundays are sometimes church, but always dinner with my family at my parents. How have your weekends changed since you’ve had Xavi? Weekends are finding me at home on a Friday night way more often since the birth of my daughter. Friday nights were my designated road nights. Nowadays, I no longer feel that urge to go out and strangely feel very content to stay in, hang out with her and go to bed early. My friends hardly even bother calling me to come out now (after several missed commitments on my part).

You mention football quite a bit. Do you get a chance to play often? I have two weekly games that I try to go to, Thursdays after work and Saturday afternoon with friends from high school days.

DRINK OF

What are you looking forward to doing with Xavi on the weekends as she grows up? With Xavi, I’m looking forward to having her with me to do everything I’m doing. Watching sports, going shopping, going to the beach and other family-friendly events. When she gets older and wants to go to parties or hang out with her friends, I’ll gladly be chaperone. I don’t want to be the overbearing dad, but I have to know where she is at all times and be within shouting distance or two minutes away after a text message.
