STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING IS MORE THAN JUST A SPORT; IT IS A WAY TO SEE THE WORLD, A TOOL TO EXPLORE IT AND A GREAT WAY TO CONNECT WITH NATURE. IT'S A STATE OF MIND AND A LIFESTYLE. IT'S KNOWING HOW TO RESPECT AND APPRECIATE THE THINGS THAT SURROUND US.

PHILOSOPHY

A SUP session can be calming, peaceful and shared with others. It can also be a perfect surf session, a race, a challenge to push your mind and body to the limit. Stand up paddle boarding can be done by everyone. A SUP can be used to surf, race, build muscle, cruise around, improve your cardio or just have fun. If you live near a lake, the ocean, a river or a creek a SUP will allow you to enjoy yourself on any body of water. A SUP will easily allow you to get the adrenaline rush you get from catching waves. Surfing with a SUP is a great way to discover surfing, easily catch more waves and make just about any conditions fun to surf. F-ONE developed a full range of boards, to accompany you in any conditions that you might encounter, at home or on your travels. At F-ONE we are constantly innovating and testing to improve the performances of our boards. Every board is made to be reliable and give you the best weight to strength ratio based on the volume of the board. Quality control is now even more specialized and has been further developed to maximize our products reliability.

The R&D team is always looking for new materials and technology to improve the performance of the gear. A few years ago we began testing bamboo fiber and found it to be light, strong and also able to absorb shocks. The high density of the bamboo cells makes them stronger, more stable and more elastic than oak. This thin fiber gets it strength from the thin bark that is made up of solid parallel fibers. Plated bamboo cables can be as strong as a steel cable of the same diameter.

After multiple years of using bamboo and testing innovating ways to get the most out of this material, F-ONE decided to bring its surfboard and SUP production into the same factory. This allowed the manufacturer to become an industry leader in the use of bamboo in surfboards and SUP. The integration of the R&D of these two sports under the same roof will allow them to learn from each other and keep developing innovative products and designs. This new research center specialized in bamboo will benefit F-ONE by giving more tools to respond to the needs of many disciplines. This will guaranty the ability to keep innovating new technologies while maintaining the highest level of quality control. New measures were setup to optimize quality control to ensure that all products delivered will meet the highest quality standards.

F-ONE strides to deliver SUP’s that are of the highest quality and durability. Most of our boards are CUSTOM. This meticulous work combined with high quality fiber glass, resin and paint allows F-ONE to build boards that are very solid, especially along the rail. The SUP’s will not be scratched or damaged while being hit on the rail with the paddle. F-ONE’s manufacturing process allows them to deliver an extremely high-end quality product, while ensuring great performance and esthetical aspect that will make you want to hang your SUP in your living room. SINCE THE CREATION OF F-ONE, R&D HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A KEY COMPONENT OF OUR SUCCESS. THE GOAL OF F-ONE IS TO DELIVER HIGH-END PRODUCTS THAT HAVE BEEN THOROUGHLY TESTED BY THE R&D TEAM AND WILL ACCOMPANY YOU IN YOUR PROGRESSION.

DECK

Our SUP boards benefit from the BAMBOO SANDWICH TECHNOLOGY construction. Every layer of bamboo is sandwiched between two layers of fiberglass or between a layer of fiberglass and a layer of carbon. This allows the sandwich technology to emphasize the characteristics of the bamboo. The final result is a light structure that is super strong and extremely reliable.

ANAKAO 8'0'' / 8'6'' / 8'10'' The deck of the board is lined with a double layer of bamboo. The bamboo ensures the deck will be even more solid and resistant to pressure dings and impacts.

On the deck, the board is built using a full layer of carbon fiber over which is laid the bamboo sheet. Then a final layer of fiberglass is laminated on top, which ensures extreme durability and an amazing light weight.

The CARBON COMPOSITE construction includes a full layer of carbon laminate on the board’s bottom and deck making it incredibly light and yet surprisingly reliable.

This sandwich construction (high density foam + fiberglass + carbon) provides the boards with a strong resistance and a lighter weight. The carbon fibers are laid at + 45° and – 45° onto the board therefore avoiding any fibers at 0° to preserve the flex of the board whilst achieving higher mechanical performances. This new construction improves the weight / resistance ratio of the MADEIRO PRO, PAPENOO PRO, NOOSA PRO & MAGIC models which clearly feature among the lightest and best performing boards on the market.

The CARBON RAILS that frame the boards are placed to optimize the stiffness and sturdiness of the boards. The carbon is laid along the rails in an arc shape to achieve the best possible stiffness from the carbon fiber.

The AIR SHIELD COMPOSITE stand up paddles are constructed around a light weight injected EPS core molded to our original shape. It is laminated with a composite made of high strength glass fiber, epoxy resin and a genuine shield made of a high quality protective topsheet layer. The topsheet is a tough and extremely reliable material also used in the construction of F-ONE twin-tips as well as in most of the skis and snowboards on the market. Thanks to their construction molded in one shot, the A.S.C. SUP are light weight, responsive and extremely durable.

EPS FOAM

For all surfers one of the inconveniences of a SUP is the large size of the rails, too big to dig into a turn. So, how do we make a SUP with a thin rail without losing the volume of the board? The answer is the BEVELED RAIL. They are small flat lateral sections in V shapes, which allows us to reduce the thickness of the rail in certain sections (1). The other advantage is that they reduce the planing surface of the board (2) which therefore reduces drag. The combination of a thinner rail and slightly narrower width allows the board to get a better edge into the turns and a tighter arc.

The handle already includes the screw for the decompression valve (1). A specific multifunction tool has been created and fits neatly into the handle (2).

The tool can be opened in two parts to reveal an Allen key which can be used to easily fit all your F-ONE SUP fins (US or FUTURES® Box) without looking everywhere to find a tool.

The top part of the tool was designed to serve as a screwdriver to open or close the decompression valve.

To prevent from oversight and to make sure the decompression valve is always closed when the SUP is in the water, a reminder has been included: you cannot fit the tool back into its place nor can you carry the board if you haven’t closed the decompression valve. Furthermore, the tool finds itself clipped on in this position. This was made to ensure the board can be transported without losing the tool. You therefore don’t have to look for the last place where you left the tool and can be sure that anyone grabbing your board will notice that the valve is not shut.

For a given width the PAPENOO are slightly longer than most of the similar type boards and this was made to ensure a good paddling speed and a super easy take off. The rocker line is tailored for this short shape which resulted in straighter lines to get the speed while maneuverability is provided by the reduced length. Board thickness remains quite standard to keep some good control. The specificity of this shape comes from its hull which features a deep single concave running from the front third of the board all the way to the tail, with a flat on each side. These lateral flats are tilted into a V shape at the front of the board to soften the entry into the curves. The wide tail has pushed for a Quattro fin setup to keep the fins on each side of the single concave and close to the rails. SURFING Thanks to this new, short outline, you can select a board which is ½ foot shorter than your usual length and still have a board which is impressively stable. You can even drop the width by 1 inch from your usual standard to get a more lively board. At the take off, you’ll be surprised by its ability to catch very small waves. The PAPENOO is made for waves between 0.40 and 1.50 m.

Available in 25.5” & 27” wide, the 12’6” is a highly versatile board designed to perform on courses. Its straight rocker line provides speed on the flat while the shape and volume of its bow let these boards work through the bumps with ease. The flat bottom offers a very dynamic behavior while the progressive V towards the tail improves the release of the flow. The rounded rails at the front morph into sharp and square rails at the back to maintain good grip on the bumps. The outline and volume distribution provide these boards with an impressive stability while the square tail lets the rider step back during the buoy turns.

True to the F-ONE ethos of crafting versatile products, the 14’ is a board designed for the ocean but also able to perform in all kinds of conditions. Its straight rocker line and pinched outline at the tail make it very efficient on flat water while the new lifted and high volume bow make it excellent in rougher conditions and on downwind courses. The new volume distribution with the pinched tail allows the rider to limit his moves on the board and remain more focused on his paddling and his trajectory in the bumps. The flat bottom makes the board very dynamic and responsive, it is easily steered towards the next bump. A V appears progressively towards the rear of the hull, to improve the release of the flow. The rails are rounded at the front and become sharper towards the back to provide a good grip. This also improves the excellent stability displayed by this 14’ model which is available in 25” and 27” wide.

Built using the CARBON COMPOSITE technology with a complete vacuum lamination around a light EPS core these boards also feature a brushed finish to reach the lightest possible weight with an impressive strength. A double bamboo patch is located under the rider’s feet for maximum durability. THE BIAXIAL DROP STITCH

The difference in quality and technology can be easily seen in the resistance of the materials, the construction, the rigidity and outline of the boards. An adaptation from the rigid board is required while designing an inflatable SUP, to be able to adapt to the rigidity of the inflatable SUP, rails, rocker and fin system. In particular, inflatable boards need a higher thickness to achieve enough ridgidity. Each board therefore has a specific thickness tailored to its program and needs to get a perfect ridgidity.

An incredible technology developed by inflatable boat and canoe manufacturers. It is composed of a vertical stitch in-between the deck and the hull that keeps them parallel and extremely rigid. This allows the boards to be inflated up to 17 PSI.

THE PADDLE IS AN EXTENSION OF YOUR BODY, IT MUST TRANSMIT ALL YOUR POWER. WELL SUITED, IT WILL NOT MAKE YOU SUFFER AND WILL INSTEAD INCREASE PLEASURE AND PERFORMANCE. CHOO­SING THE RIGHT PADDLE IS ESSENTIAL. It must match your practice and your style. Stiffness, flex, surface, shape of the blade and choice of materials are the parameters that we have optimized to offer comfort and performances. TAAPUNA, PEAK & BATTLE, the 3 lines of paddles that we have developed brings a total of 25 different models, for the most demanding practitioners and also for those discovering the discipline, in order to find their ideal extension. To develop this range we have worked with an exceptional rower : Ludovic DULOU, outstanding tester, who knows better than anyone that the difference is always in small details.

CONSTRUCTIONS & TECHNOLOGIES

BATTLE OUTLINE: deep with a moderate width to bring the paddle closer to the rider and fit the higher paddling rates. The parallel sides enable to pack a maximum of area for a given width and also make it possible to tune precisely the effort by controlling the degree of immersion of the blade. This outline provides a better efficiency for touring and racing.

It promotes the “catch” entry in the water, but too pronounced you can be penalized during the exit phase.

The V SHAPE of the blade brings better control by stabilizing the blade during the stroke to avoid the lateral movement similar to falling leaf motion (nasty lateral motion of the paddle when the blade is in the water)

The non-skid finish is a “soft touch” varnish that makes the paddle non slippery when wet. This allows the rider to focus on paddling instead of wasting energy in an effort to stop the paddle from slipping. The grip is especially strong when the paddle is wet.

All our paddles incorporate in its blade construction an ABS edge whose purpose is threefold. It protects the blade, participates in its structure and sealing, and is less aggressive to the rails of the boards.

To ensure a consistent flex (1), with no hard point on the entire length of the paddle, the blade has to fit inside the shaft (2). Another advantage of this connection is the absence of external joint line that could damage the rail of the board (3).

PEAK OUTLINE: long and narrow for an easier “catch” and an easier water exit which allows for a gradual power rise. The outline gets wider towards the bottom of the blade with a round shape to offer great versatility and a sound support while surfing. This shape also facilitates the return journey when facing the wind. This outline makes paddling very easy and progressive.

SHAFT STIFFNESS: the te chnologie s and materials chosen for the construction of the paddles bring different choices for your shaft rigidity, from the more flexible and tolerant to the more rigid and nervous.

The V DOUBLE CONCAVE offers a stronger V shape which is emphasized by the lateral concaves. This shape brings even more stability to the paddle without increasing the volume of the blade.

THE PEAK PADDLES ARE DESIGNED FOR SURFING. THEIR ROUND BUT SLENDER OUTLINE MAKES THEM VERY EASY TO HANDLE AND ONLY REQUIRES LOW STROKE POWER. They are well suited to a higher paddling frequency, which is ideal for take-off. The PEAK have an optimized amount of spoon and angle in the blade to achieve a paddle which is super easy to get in and out of the water in any circumstances. Since 2016, some new blade shapes have been introduced in the 70% and 100% carbon ranges. They feature a V DOUBLE CONCAVE section shape which enhances significantly the lateral stability while the blade is in the water. Benefitting from a better support, the stroke is easier and fatigue is reduced. The PEAK 20 cm features a new thinner shaft diameter, for the 70% and 100% carbon models, with slightly more flex for a better hand grip and an easier paddling. Easy to use, the PEAK paddles are available in many different constructions. Life is full of surprises and this is why our job is so engaging. Yes, 20 years down the road, F-ONE is offering a windsurfing board,again!!! After 4 years of work on the KITEFOIL, we’ve received demand from windsurfers and we have designed specific wings to offer them the products they need. Then came along the question of the board and the PAPENOO Foil convertible appeared ideal for “windfoiling” SHAPE Its wide outline at the tail provides enough volume to be in the right position for lift off and the wide width creates plenty of stability. The foil box is located perfectly to optimize lift off and in-flight balance. Equipped with two front foot-straps and a mast track, the board can also be used as a normal windsurf board for light wind wave riding.

CONSTRUCTION

ON THE WATER

The PAPENOO WINDFOIL convertible is further reinforced on deck and around the foot-straps: the whole area running from the mast track to the foil insert is strengthened by DOUBLE BAMBOO CARBON construction.

Our team already knew the feeling of foiling with a kite but the first windsurfing tests brought in some new sensations! The difference between being on the water or in flight is even more significant with the windsurfing gear than with the kite. Everything becomes so soft and silent once in flight. The sensations are totally new and absolutely gripping. The efficiency of the foil in light winds is a real advantage as it becomes possible to use a much smaller rig for a given wind strength.

H "BAMBOO DECK" VERSION The BAMBOO DECK construction has been proven for many years of production and offer a weight to resistance ratio with great reliability. The deck features a layer of bamboo to provide a tough impact and crushing resistance while the many layers of reinforcement on the bottom ensures solid strength. H "PRO CARBON" VERSION The PRO CARBON construction is built from layers of glass, bamboo and some bi-axial carbon fabrics. The bottom features an HD foam sandwich with glass layers and some bi-axial carbon fabrics. The brushed carbon finish ensures the weight remains minimal. This construction brings an impressive resistance combined with absolute light weight. These boards feature an amazing strength to weight ratio and remain amongst the highest performing and lightest boards on the market.

MAGIC — PROG.

THE AIM HERE WAS TO CREATE TWO SIZES OF SUP BOARDS DESIGNED TO TAKE-OFF ON AVERAGE OR POOR QUALITY WAVES, WHATEVER THEIR SIZES. This was a golden opportunity to start from a blank page and make no compromises. We wanted to achieve take-off as early as possible and then gain enough speed on the wave to lift off and foil. On the two MAGIC sizes, 8’6’’ & 9’6’’, the entire shape has been thought towards foiling.

Outline, rocker, volume distribution, box locations and feet positions, everything is made to get you up on the foil. This is something totally new. These boards are quite long and narrow to allow for a better take-off on outside reef waves which are less powerful. Being slightly longer, the 9’6’’ will allow easier take-offs. IMPORTANT NOTE: it's possible to surf less powerful waves with a foil with an amazing feeling but the foil does not enable an earlier take-off. It is therefore important to choose correctly the size of the board depending on the wave to be surfed.

OCEAN — PROG.

THE AIM HERE IS TO SURF THE OCEAN SWELL DOWNWIND TO LIFT OFF WITH A RACE SUPFOIL AND GLIDE OFF AS FAR AS POSSIBLE. This type of practice is a little more restrictive as it requires the right logistics and weather forecast, but what a feeling it is to glide above the swell with nothing more than a SUP and a paddle. The shape of the OCEAN 10’ is not only restricted to downwind racing but is also suited to surfing outside reefs. It becomes possible to catch and surf the waves that rise further offshore and then paddle back to the peak after a long surf, even if that’s going upwind. Race Supfoiling becomes a mix of navigating and flying.

What kind of board is required to takeoff on a downwinder and what kind of board is required to maintain flight as long as possible? We have opted for a length of 10’0’’ to get enough speed to catch the swell and bumps, while remaining light and compact enough for the behavior in flight. Here again, starting from such a blank page, we were able to unleash our design experience and get out of the beaten tracks.

Built using the CARBON COMPOSITE technology with a complete vacuum lamination around a light EPS core these boards also feature a brushed finish to reach the lightest possible weight with an impressive strength. A double bamboo patch is located under the rider’s feet for maximum durability.

Outline, volume, rocker, hull and nose shape are all previously unseen on a racing SUP board. Box location and feet position have been optimized for an early lift off to maximize your enjoyment and the distance with your trailing competitors.

This technology takes advantage of the same principles as standard PRE-PREG but uses a different type of fiber which is better suited to mold small parts with complex shapes. It allows us to build accurately smaller sized parts that are very reliable. The advantages of these two technologies are their high end mechanical properties, but also their fast production cycle which allows us to work with a faster and more rational construction process (1h to cure a PRE-PREG mast and about 10 mn for a FORGED CARBON part). This is crucial for delivering a high quality product made in France.

FOIL

With PRE-PREG fabrics, the carbon fiber is directly impregnated with epoxy resin by its manufacturer; this guarantees a perfect ratio between epoxy & carbon, and represents the highest quality process. The material is stored in cooled rooms and catalyzes at 120° C in a mold. The PRE-PREG fibers must travel in refrigerated trucks and be stored frozen. The refined ratio between carbon fiber and epoxy resin provides the lightest weight with the best mechanical properties of carbon fiber.

This aluminium alloy boasts some very good mechanical properties and can be processed in many different ways while also offering a natural resistance to corrosion. Produced from an extrusion process, our aluminium profiles make the most of this homogeneous material to provide perfect stiffness both in torsion and bending. All areas in contact with other metals or carbon parts are duly isolated against galvanic reactions.

DEEP K-F BOX / K-F BOX F-ONE foil masts are equipped with the fully conical K-F BOX or DEEP K-F BOX. Originally developed for kitesurf boards, the K-F BOX is used for Surf Foiling as it fits well with the usual thickness of a surfboard. The DEEP K-F BOX provides additionnal support for the high loads experienced with Supfoiling and Windfoiling. With their shape offering easy connection, the K-F BOX and DEEP K-F BOX offer a perfect and tight support.

FOIL

ďżź We have developed and patented a brand new concept for the assembly of the mast, fuselage and wings because this is a critical aspect of the kitefoil. It drives the reliability and ease of use for assembling and taking the foil apart for transportation, as much as the repeatability of the trim between the front and rear wings. The benefit of the system is the one and only screw that maintains the main parts together:

H Mast H Fuselage H Front wing This screw is placed longitudinally and is therefore only stressed in tension instead of shear or bending. The whole foil can be tightened up with everything working in a sound mechanical way. To gain some precision, robustness and packed-up volume, the screw is combined with a squared, conical assembling system, which has been proven as the best mechanical setup to lock any motion or degree of freedom between the parts, while also contributing greatly to tensional resistance.

The F-ONE KITEFOILS are modular with a unique and patented assembly system.

Designed for wave riding, the generous surface area and compact aspect ratio of this wing offers easy and immediate lift. It is specifically shaped to lift off at very low speed and surf the most marginal waves. Thanks to its controlled flying speed this wing lets you follow the wave without excessive pace and remains very user friendly.

Maneuverable and very intuitive to enter the curves and bends, it remains stable and is ideal for surfing or for learning how to foil behind a boat. This wing is perfect with our MAGIC 8’6’’ and 9’6’’ boards, as well as with the PAPENOO convertible, but can be adapted on any surf or Sup wave board.

CARBON

Built out of PRE-PREG carbon fibers around a steel core, the F-ONE fuselages are designed to be extremely stiff and provide perfect control with a low drag sectional area. With a full stainless steel tail, the assembly with the stabilizer is solid and very reliable. The tail matches the angle of incidence required onto the stabilizer to guarantee an intuitive balance whatever the wing combo selected. The 42 cm fuselage provides better directional and pitch stability which helps a lot at lower and medium flying speeds.
