Academic Personal TKU Studio Thesis 2017
Work : EA 4 . Fall Building Type : Sports Center Building Amount : 1 Location : Xinzhuang, New Taipei City, Taiwan Area : Downtown Key description : At the beginning of this project, I studied in fashion clothing and fashion designers. Fashion clothing include material, texture, senses, identity and it also define the boundary of human body. Then I studied 4 fashion designers about their ideas of fashion clothing and I found out that fashion clothing are inspired by nature. According these research, I started to study in Biomimicry. I analysis 3 different creatures in different scales. Eventually, I used these studies to decide how to deisgn the clothing of architecture. Sports center is a place where people take part in sports. But the architecture outside can not show the activities. So what I want to do is let the space interweaving, creat the inbetween spaces. I chose Xinzhuang sports center as my site is because Xinzhuang sports center located in the middle of downtown. I try to let the activity space closer to public. Space is interweave by senses. In the dynamic process, the senses will gradually change. The state of gradient make activity and behavior become a rhythm. I used two different systems to define dynamic activity and Static activity.

Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig Chapman's draping and design paired with Craig's textile creations resulted in the establishment of Marchesa in 2004.
Ying Gao
Montreal-based fashion designer and professor at UQAM, recipient of the Phyllis-Lambert Design MontrĂŠal Grant, Ying Gao questions our assumptions about clothing by combining urban design, architecture and multimedia.
Alexander McQueen 03.17.1969 - 02.11.2010
Some of McQueen's accomplishments included being one of the youngest designers to achieve the title "British Designer of the Year", which he won four times between 1996 and 2003;he was also awarded the CBE and named International Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers in 2003.
Iris van Herpen Iris van Herpen is a Dutch fashion designer. She studied Fashion Design at ArtEZ Institute of the Arts Arnhem and interned at Alexander McQueen in London, and Claudy Jongstra in Amsterdam. Van Herpen immediately caught the eye with notable shows. In 2007, she started her own label. Since July 2011, she is a guest member of the prestigious Parisian Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, which is part of the Fédération française de la couture. She participates in many international exhibitions and creates two collections a year. As an aspiring fashion designer at the art academy, Van Herpen learned to work with soft fabric. She quickly felt limited by fabric, as she wanted to build, construct, and sculpt with the materials of which she created her designs. This forced her, already early on, to experiment with other materials, and later on to develop materials that approached her concept the closest.
Marchesa
Marchesa is an American brand specializing in high-end womenswear based in New York City. It was established in 2004 by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. Marchesa is named after socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati. British-born Georgina Chapman andKeren Craig met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Chapman, a 2001 graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art, began her career as a costume designer. Craig graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 and subsequently focused on print and embroidery design. Chapman's draping and design paired with Craig's textile creations resulted in the establishment of Marchesa in 2004.
Ying Gao Ying Gao questions our assumptions about clothing by combining urban design, architecture and media design. She explores the construction of the garment, taking her inspiration from the transformations of the social and urban environment. Design is the medium, situated in the technological rather than in the textile realm : sensory technologies allow garments to become more poetic and interactive. Ying Gao explores both the status of the individual, whose physical contours are transformed by external interferences, and the garment’s function as a fragile protective space. Her work testifies to the rofound mutation of the world in which we live and carries with it a radical critical dimension that transcends technological experimentation.
Alexander McQueen
Alexander McQueen is a British luxury fashion house founded by designer Alexander McQueen in 1992. Its current creative director is Sarah Burton. Alexander McQueen brand was founded by designer Alexander McQueen in 1992. It was the suggestion of Isabella Blow that McQueen use his middle name for the label. The house's early collections developed its reputation for controversy and shock tactics (earning the title "l'enfant terrible" and "the hooligan of English fashion"), with trousers aptly named "bumsters" and a collection entitled Highland Rape.

Nature is a grand source of inspiration. Besides ethetical beauty, all these structures are showing maximum structural efficiency and minimal material expenditures.

The morphology of dragonfly wing is an natural construction built by a complex patterning process. The patterns of the wings follow the general tensile forces exhibit on the wing. The various shapes carry the responsibility of determining the amount of stiffness or flexibility in that area of wing. Two main types of joints occur in the dragonfly wings, mobile and immobile.
Jellyfish are softbodied, free-swimming aquatic animals with a gelatinous umbrella-shaped bell and trailing tentacles. The bell can pulsate to acquire propulsion and locomotion. The tentacles may be utilized to capture prey or defend against predators by emitting toxins in a painful sting.
Caterpillars have soft bodies that can grow rapidly between moults. Their size varies between species and instars (moults) from as small as 1 mm up to 14 cm. Only the head capsule is hardened. The mandibles are tough and sharp for chewing (this contrasts with most adult Lepidoptera, which have highly reduced or soft mandibles). Behind the mandibles of the caterpillar are the spinnerets, for manipulating silk. Antennae are present on either side of the labrum, but small and relatively inconspicuous.

Suho Memorial Paper Culture & Suho Memorial Paper Museum Zhongxiao Xinsheng,Taipei,Taiwan The bark and decayed grass could be the rebirth of paper. As we understand matter and spirit will never die, so we do see the establishment of Su Ho Memorial Paper Museum thereafter. In October of 1990, an airplane crash in China’s Guangdong province, took the lives of Su Ho Chen, the founder and guiding light of Chang Chuen Cotton Paper. For many years, Chen had dreamed of establishing a museum devoted to paper. His dream has come to fruition with the establishment of the museum he envisioned, dedicated to his memory. After five years of preparation, the Su Ho Memorial Paper Museum opened in October 1995.Understanding that the vitality of a museum depends on it’s inter- action with visitors, we have created lively exhibitions andactivities that encourage visitor’s participation all with the aim of fully realizing the Museum’s mission to educate and enlighten. By collecting and classifying Taiwanese paper artifacts system- atically, we hope to make the Museum a paper museum that reflects the unique history and culture of Taiwan. In 1999, the Chang Cheun Cotton Paper Foundation and the Su Ho Memorial Paper Museum merged names to become the Su Ho Memorial Paper Culture Foundation. We have propagated the Museum’s message much more broadly around Taiwan. However, we also understand that each step must be taken carefully, secure footing maintained throughout, if we wish to tread our chosen path over the long term.
