MIAMI, FL – Since 2011 Fine Art Auctions Miami has hosted the only major auction held during Art Basel Miami Beach. During Art Basel Miami Beach 2014, FAAM will host two major auctions including a ‘Exceptional Jewels” auction on December 2nd and FAAM’s annual ‘Important Paintings and Sculptures’ auction on December 4th. Both auctions will reel in the most respected collectors in the industry. FAAM’s Founder and Director Frédéric Thut continues to surprise his clients year after year with the highest quality lots during FAAM’s Art Basel auction.

The ‘Exception Jewels’ auction on December 2nd, FAAM will feature over 50 pieces. In 2013, FAAM’s Art Basel sales reached over $4 million in sales, and featured artists including Impressionist and Modern masters Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring; as well as some record-breaking sale prices for world renowned artists Vik Muniz and Carlos Cruz-Diez.
During the December 2012 Art Basel sale, amidst major art fairs and exhibitions, FAAM sold a historical portrait of Oskar Gruzenbeg and his wife Roza, painted by Russian artist Valentin Aleksandrovich Serov which was unallocated for 90 years. The portrait sold for a staggering $4,673,500. This price came as a wonderful surprise when compared to its estimate at $150,000 to $200,000 after an incredible battle between Russian billionaires. The 68 lots in this auction totaled $20,288,660.
