Carbon-neutral production Faber-Castell’s forests in Prata, Southeast Brazil, absorb 900,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2), according to a scientific study by TÜV-Rheinland in 2012. The 10,000 hectare forestry project not only secures stocks of sustainable wood but also protects the environment through photosynthesis, which converts the CO2 into biomass. The pine trees and forests in Prata, one third of which have been left untouched, therefore neutralise the climate-relevant carbon footprint of Faber-Castell’s global production facilities. Large parts of the forests have become a habitat for rare species of animals and plants, a respectful interaction with nature is key for Faber-Castell.
The Faber-Castell Group is working worldwide to reduce plastics or replace them with recycled materials.
Every product contains valuable raw materials. To extend their usability, many products can be refilled.

Metallics
The creative all-rounder Decorate light, dark or colourful paper or even smooth surfaces, such as plastic, foil, porcelain, glass and metal, with a premium metallic effect. You can even make wood or rocks look shiny. After drying, Metallics are resistant to both smudging and water splashes. They can even be made waterproof (not dishwasher safe) by setting them in an oven at 160°C for 30 minutes. The special water-based metallic ink is odourless and doesn't bleed through the paper. Furthermore, no shaking or pumping is required; the ink flows evenly through the 1.5 mm fibre tip. This allows you to start drawing immediately.

Beautiful, colourful world
Use your globe to track your travels! Just colour in the countries you have been to. The rest should remain white for the time being.
1. Prime seas and oceans with acr ylic paint
Colourful world A globe doesn't always have to be just blue, green and brown. Why not make your own? Choose a globe whose stand you find particularly attractive. Because you can decorate everything else yourself. The colourful countries look even better with a white undercoat. And that still leaves plenty of space for attractive hand lettering.
2. Mark out the lettering in advance

Tropic like it's hot You can draw on a wide range of surfaces using Metallics. This lets you create an entire set of table decorations in the same theme. Be creative and experiment with a whole host of surfaces! For example, how about using slate serving platters with handwriting or leaves instead of place cards made of paper? From smudge-proof to waterproof To ensure that water doesn't dampen your summer party, you should set the painting on your art pieces by placing them in an oven at 160°C for 30 minutes. You should only wash your works of art by hand rather than in a dishwasher to keep them in good condition for a long time.

The seaside cafe From paper onto a cup Most of the time, it is more difficult to draw on a three-dimensional object than on paper. To make things easier, simply use carbon paper to transfer a sketch of your design from paper to a three-dimensional object, such as a cup. If you don't have carbon paper, you can also fully cover the reverse side of the piece of sketching paper featuring your drawing using a soft pencil. At the end, you can easily remove the pencil residues using an art eraser.

Shimmering ideas Who says you can only add to notebooks on the inside? A cover you have designed yourself makes you want to open your book up and get creative. For example, think about what would suit the content of the notebook thematically or how you can bring in your own character. Perhaps start off with your name or a motivating slogan in beautiful characters and add a motif of your choice. If you like, you can also decorate the back!
Decorate smartphone cases Shine every day
A shining career Thanks to the versatility of Metallics, you will be able to add some shine to your dull office or to life at school. Decorate your daily companions, such as coffee mugs, smartphone cases and organisers, and kick-start your shining career in your own style. Setting Metallics on plastic Drawings on items such as smartphone cases made of plastic can't be set in an oven to make them waterproof. To ensure that your design can withstand daily use despite this, we recommend you protect the colour with clear, fast-drying acrylic resin varnish. Try it out on an inconspicuous part of the item first.

Colourful green
Green fingers Plants are naturally a good way of breathing more life into dreary environments! The fantastic thing is: there is a plant to suit every style. Once you have made the right choice, the only thing missing is the matching plant pot. But attractive pots don’t need to be expensive. Buy cheap blank pots at the flea market or use old pots from your collection that you no longer like. With the shimmering Metallics you can individually create a new, shiny home for each of your plants. And if, after a while, you get tired of your design: just pop it into the dishwasher! As the colours are waterproof but not dishwasher safe, you will have room for a new design in no time. This is very practical particularly for those who like to decorate their home seasonally or often change the style of their furnishings.

Let's get festive The pens are especially suitable for designing festive Christmas decorations thanks to their premium metallic effect. Warm, wintry colours, such as silver and copper, immediately create a cosy atmosphere.

Mixed-media lantern The sky's the limit for your creativity when you combine Metallics with other painting mediums. For example, use black acrylic paint to darken the glass and create a base layer on which Metallics can really come into their own. This is how you can turn a simple tea light holder into a decorative lantern that catches attention.
